Daily Routine In Hospitals
The EKG-ECG beeped as she "breathed" heavily
with the oxygen mask across her face
gradually her hope "limped"
her little fingers revealed her hunger for comfort
her spontaneous restricted movements showed her mind refreshed the terrible moments of
deja vu- the scene that sprung her sadness
the silence around her seemed intimidating-stealing-encapsulating her awareness
lying on the bed
she appeared death infested-deficiently dying looking life malnourished in need of
resuscitating replenishment
no one was there to console her- to deliver a presence of comfort-hope
I knew she had forgotten the presence of her guarding angel
as the quietly dripping water from her eyes somewhat proved me right
she bled helpless-hopeless uncertain tears as her final moments on planet earth ticked
and the EKG-ECG beeped delivering its warning signal
silently watching the current sent by the defibrillators to her left chest-into her heart
kept me on hope's track
her parents waited in undying frustration as the doctors unveiled the exterminating news
the truth is what I lay before you
before the arrival of the doctors she had crossed over to another world - "breathed" past
resuscitation point-center.
