Best Be Gracious Poems
Be grateful for what you have: family, friends, the floor under your feet
Don't try to change folks: Be gracious and respectful to people you meet
Build faith in yourself: Always try your absolute best -- repeat and repeat

Aged chains are hampering me.
They get heavier constantly.
Age changes everything,
Voices crackle, making it hard to sing.
Walking and talking become a chore,
The conversation is a bore.
When the subjects get too deep
Old-aged folk tend to fall asleep.
Mumbling softly under their breath
They often gasp, scaring guests to death.
When they lay with open mouth
They do not realise their teeth went south.
This state of affairs could cause them to dribble,
It may embarrass some, but to old folk, this is trivial.
Getting old may make one sad,
But after all is said and done, it's not all bad.
How lucky old folk are to be still alive,
To have lived a long life and survived.
Father Time has passed us by
We aged folk should not moan or cry.
We should be gracious and thankful, too,
And hope that life will be kind to you.
Trusting future generations will be healthy and strong,
And be gifted with a life that's happy and long.
The Color of a Man’s Character
We all bleed
And cleave to
Those we leave
We all smile when we are greeted
And cry when we are mistreated
Why do we choose to abuse others
For the color of their skin?
Why do we think that only
Our own color should win?
We’re all the same underneath
We all deserve peace
When we lay down to sleep
Love one another while you can
Show your son how to be gracious
The color of a man’s character
Is how he treats his fellow Man.
I suppose that I'll never understand
Why one would pen slam for foe or friend
If writing slam is one's bent
Be gracious in how you vent
It may come back to bite you in the end

My Father's Blessing (A Rondel)
His wrinkled hand would touch my head
And lift his eyes to the mountains:
He’d ask the Lord that I be blessed,
Have His peace and enough graces.
Excited, off I went with speed -
Lived world’s lies; drank turbid fountains.
His wrinkled hand would touch my head,
And lift his eyes to the mountains.
Late I understood this kind deed;
His hands asked for heavenly gifts;
Unto me a Godly blessing flows.
Preserve her from harm, he would plead
And lift his eyes to the mountains.

This is dedicated to my Father whose birthday is on August 2. Remembering
also how he would bless me every time I am to leave home for school faraway
from family. May his soul rest in peace and may he smile at his now big girl for
he is well-pleased. :))
“The Lord bless you and keep you; The Lord make His face shine upon you,
and be gracious to you; The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, and give
you peace. “ Num. 6:24-26
ELDORADO-LIFE IS A JOURNEY
Vijay K Koduri MD
In twilight, as the day takes its bow,
Longer and shorter, dances the shadow.
Living out barely on daily wages!
Loving those daring high stake wagers!
A mere cry in the cradle for one!
A loud shout out for those landing on the moon!
Life is a journey, compete not just compare!
Not how many sights you see!
Love voraciously the byte you view.
Not how many miles you go!
Leave a mark in the mile you be.
Not how much you got!
Be gracious with what you sought.
Life is a journey, live, not just move!
Not how many games you play!
Show your best and do it the right way.
Not how much you read!
Practice well, with what you did.
Not how many friends you gather!
Make them feel, it's you they have rather.
Life is a journey, love, not just have!
Missed a much-awaited promotion!
Focus to behave, not just crave.
You never want to hear!
“Your seat isn't here, and you need to move over.”
Take a seat in a row, that’s lower.
Requests will pour in, for you to come over.
Life is a journey, be humble, not just entitled!
Sore after a rocky relation?
Just leave it and get over it.
Want to own a Silverado,
Yours, it could belong.
In pursuit of Eldorado!
The drive could be way too long!
Life is a journey. live your dream, not just live in them.
Think in abundance and abundance will be yours
The million of stars for you to gaze upon
The thousands upon thousands of leaves on the trees around
Oodles and oodles of grains of sand to walk on
The vast atmosphere of air to breath with
The million upon millions of litres of water
Running in the rivers to thirst upon
The trillions of thoughts coarsing thro' our mind
The vast spaciousness of the galaxies
Of infinite unknown dimensions
To play and romp in fields of flowers and grasses
To rest your body and eyes upon
What abundance we have in store
What monies can be bared and paid at the door
Of our bounteous gifts bestowed in glory
And from the Father's love from the start of history
Pray as if you have already recieved we're told
Believe that you already have the requested lot
Then let it not for a moment be forgotten too
To take the moment and thank and be thankful for
Be gracious with your bounty in store
Give freely so that you can freely receive too
For not one cent can you at the close of the hour
Take on the journey to be with the Father evermore
may the Lord bless you and keep you
may he turn his face towards you
and be gracious in all that you do
may the Lord bless you
may the Lord turn his face towards you
and give you peace in all you do
may the Lord shine his face upon you
and may the Lord bless you
may the Lord bless you
may the Lord bless you. Amen

What is man that You are mindful of him, and the son of man that You visit him? For You have made him a little lower than the angels, and You have crowned him with glory and honor. You have made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet. Psalm 8:4–6

"May the Lord bless you and keep you
And make His face to shine upon you
And be gracious unto you

Him! For now and for forever more!

You and to abundantly bless you with His

i sifted away into the winter sun,
rays beaming in glory for you-
i knew not what you knew,
that we’d wed amongst autumn dew
my baby,
you are the one
until this life is done
i drifted away into the reverie tide,
ripples rippling for none but my sweet;
for i shall follow my adoring guide,
we are one and utterly complete-
let us put our quarrels aside
and be gracious where love’s implied
for i shall be the woman you crave,
and embrace all the affection you gave
last night under the resonating moonlit rave

Im gonna help the sad faces that have faces ,
Redeem each part played in these bad places
And if I had a safety net, I'd be glad to be gracious.
You don't have to say it,
The world is overplayed
And every broken heart seems hopeless everyday.
A corpse amongst the living;
Death is here to stay.
You can say
I tell a story,
Of what happens when we break.
Overtakes our hearts and soul
We reach for what is safe.
Underneath our skin,
We're vulnerable within.
Underneath this place
And What it takes to stay awake.
Underneath we shake;
Of what it takes to stay in place.
Underneath creates,
What we're afraid to face.
I celebrated the
day you were born
by wrapping a
present of chopsticks
I had purchased but
would never give you.
I wrapped the box
as though I might --
with colorful tissue and
a silver ribbon
that catches the light
in a similar manner as
do your eyes.
But realized that were
I to offer them up
you might ram one through
my heart
without even meaning to.
You would say thank you
and be gracious
but would not hold me
citing a thousand reasons why
you shouldn't.
And you would be right.
For we would hurt all over.
So instead I write this for you,
hoping you will visit
but knowing you won't.
So I forget your birthday --
though I don't.
okay now, I'm getting depressing
I've decided to stop and begin progressing...
I'll look one way as i climb to the top
I'll laugh as I get higher and feel my ears pop
My smile will brighten the world one day
and everyone will look up and they'll say
Who's that girl so valiant and so strong?
Has she been on top of the world for long?
And i'll be gracious, and help them to me
I'll bring them higher so happily
But of course I can't do it alone, I've got someone
Who'll help me, even, else the battle's not won
It's my savior, the Christ, my brother, my all
He's the only one who saved me from that dangerous pitfall
...So come one and all, join me and arise
The stumbling blocks of the world shouldn't be our demise.
