Unseen
vanishing, thin-skinned, blood-bone,
broken-token people
pokin' while invokin'
spoken and unspoken words
that slap at fat-back pimps
gone insane on cocaine rain;
bendin' over, slippin in,
pasty, wasted,
hurtin' urchins of the street:
The spawn of dawn's humanity
in feral peril dark despair -
not flimsy freeway-floaters flying by
or bee-bop preachers preachin' pestilence
at midnight,
in the quantified prophetics
of poetic Hebrew quatrain prophecy.
Midnight's
wailin' siren song
is singin' loud and long -
trauma centers crowded
once again
cautiously collecting
violated victims
from another vicious night of viral pain.
Garbage
burstin' forth from bins at dawn!
Crack-head harlot's humpin' dumpsters,
lappin' scraps
and bastin' wasted bellies,
fillin' up their cup of human loss.
Crazy
little Lizzy
wants to gather
gormet goodies
at the bottom of the bin
but squirmy wormys feed and feast
on every minute morsel
of her promissory sin
and leave our little Lizzy
lying foul and very dizzy;
another broken-token braying like a beast.
Polished
flash on badges worn
by those who promise to protect
are looked upon with scathing scorn
by prophets of the street who must reject
the tarnished badges bred and born
of bureaucratic magic called neglect.
Badges of pain adorn my arm,
No one can really keep me safe from harm.
I would rather be stabbed or shot,
Then deal with this pain I have got.
Wasted hours of listless thinking,
Feels like maybe I should be drinking.
I doubt even alcohol will numb this pain,
I'd rather die if it's all the same.
So numb on the outside, so empty within,
This is one battle I refuse to let depression win.
I will survive, I alwayshave and always do,
Question is will it be with or without you?
Trying to let go, but really holding on for dear life,
realizing more each day thos pain causes nothing, but strife.
If I have to move on, I will do what I must,
I want you to know in our Love I will always trust.
Millions of people about the world gazed at their televisions mesmerized,
As Nik Wallenda crossed the Grand Canyon with consummate skill as advertised!
People held their collective breaths as he performed this outstanding feat!
It was a dream he had since boyhood and he wouldn't countenance defeat!
It took GREAT COURAGE to take the walk as about him fearful winds swirled.
It took GREATER COURAGE to express his faith in God before the entire world!

The sunny New Jersey shore is within my reach.
However, I will need a badge to get on the beach.
They sell season passes down at City Hall.
Everybody around here is ready to answer the call.
There’s one item that people won’t consider fine:
The town has imposed a Memorial Day deadline.
After that, only daily passes can be bought.
The high prices of these leaves many distraught.
It’s a well-enforced ordinance around this place.
Folks from other parts of the country call it a disgrace.
That’s what it takes to enjoy the surf and the sand.
Out of state guests say this is an unreasonable demand.
