Ryan, Where are You?
Oh Ryan, please tell me, where are you?
I'll never forget that tragic summer of August 1992,
when you left without even bidding a final adieu –
not even a single wave good-bye,
just leaving us high and dry.
How could you just simply disappear?
Like a dark shadow, in a grey mist...not really there?
Gone to heaven or God knows where?
My dear Ryan, did you think we really wouldn’t care?
One day you're enjoying the sunshine, doing so well;
the next day buried in a cold grave where you now dwell;
You always said that tomorrow’s not promised to anyone.
Now, you’ll never get to see another glorious sunset or dawn.
I heard you were run over by a Brooklyn-bound train.
But neither the police nor the coroner could adequately explain -
was your death instantaneous or did you suffer any pain?
Please help me to understand - who’s to blame?
Please tell me - was it just an untimely death?
Please explain to me - was it just your fate you met?
At birth, did the Three Fates your destiny set?
Or were you just in the wrong place at the wrong time...
an innocent bystander who hadn’t committed any crime?
When Atropos cruelly severed the thread of your short life,
the incredible pain of losing you cut deep like a butcher’s knife.
But, my dear brother, your treasured memory will be with us always,
through your children and in our hearts ‘till the end of our days!

Thank you for the blessings
You have bestowed upon my loves ones and me
We have health, love for each other
And jobs that pay enough for the rent
And basic necessities
Forgive me for the times I’ve cursed you
In the midst of certain lessons
I was ignorant – not contemplating
The greater good,
Then you granted me the gifts of
Knowledge and understanding and
Made me grateful for nearly all the outcomes
“Life is the school” and “Love is the lesson,”
But what is the purpose of our incarnation?
Is it enjoying the simple pleasures,
Growing spiritually to know you better,
And striving to do the right things
That make up the purpose potion?
These are things that aid us in loving
Ourselves enough to adequately love you,
Jesus and our fellow spiritual beings
Who are sharing the earthly experience,
But is that all there is?
Beyond Love, you may not divulge
Any other reasons for existence, as
All things ultimately fall under Love’s umbrella
Besides, when working in harmony,
The Bible, our intellect and intuition
allow us higher Truths and Revelations
That I contend come from You and angels
But, is that all of what we are given?
Shall I simply be content in praying
That you continue to enlighten my inquisitive soul
By feeding me information
On a need to know basis
using the tools you have provided
as I enjoy the simple pleasures,
continue my spiritual growth
and strive for morality over blasphemy?
Do I trust that Life’s Purpose
Is as simple and as complex as
Live, Love, Die and Reincarnate?
Love is the Key.
The rest, only You know the Truth.
If you could talk to God....

The shady wood I came upon
Was so adequately blessed,
I determined I would tarry there
If only for a rest.
The trees were as cathedrals
And the floor was mossy green--
While the scattered beams of sunlight
Made the site the more serene.
The cool and misty morning air
Did my worries quickly dim--
It was a sanctuary of a sort;
The breeze was as a hymn.
And I thought I saw an angel,
Though it may have been a deer--
Still God was then less distant
Just as heaven was more near.
That shady wood I came upon
Was by God so richly dressed,
I offered up a prayer of thanks--
A most inspired guest!

I thought and I thought
I thought and I thunk
so very much thinking
My thoughts made me drunk
My friends are great friends
Friends that are friendly and true
They are far more than friends
These lovely friends one and two
They're considerately considerate
They consider what they do
By considering the possibilities
It's consideration that makes them true
What confuses is confusing
Nothing seem to confuse them all
When I'm feeling confused
It's those friends who I call
Depend on the dependable
Depending on if it's true
If the friends you depend on
Can also depend on you
Being kind brings out kindness
My kindly friends always do
The very best kind of friends
make you happy not blue
True givers are a gift
It's a gift to spend time with them
The gift that keeps on giving
Over and over again.
So thinking turns to thanking
Thanks for all they have done
thoughts and a heartfelt thank youse
For being kind and such great fun
Dedicated to our friends Al and Jay who's kindness and friendship mean the world to us. I lack the words to adequately express our appreciation. So I gift this bit of silly as a token of our affection. You are truly special people and have been God sent into our lives. Al and Jay you are loved.

She left nothing but a broken locket,
snapped in two, as though it had been stepped on.
And as I slipped it into my pocket,
I realized that she was truly gone.
She kept our pictures in a golden heart,
saying we would always be together.
But before too long, we drifted apart,
encountering rogue waves and rough weather.
She left me in the wee hours of the night,
into the darkness that swallowed her whole.
And as she silently slipped out of sight,
she cut the tether to my heart and soul.
Failing to adequately secure it:
she left nothing but a broken locket.

There are so many people around this world
rage and malice fills many a heart
which results in fights and battles galore
but the question is where did it all start?
Ever since the world began so long ago
mankind fell into sin causing all to sin
in the garden, iniquity arrived when Adam fell
all mankind then born in sin no one can win
As life goes on in school and adulthood
sin shows it's ugly head with many a fight
both internal and external Satan attacks
using his attacks to draw us in his night
Scripture says that hearts desperately wicked
who indeed can know it's deceitfulness
no words can adequately describe it
for hate is indeed utter sinfulness
But God has provided a remedy
in Jesus Christ God's begotten son
on the cross, He was the perfect sacrifice
taking on man's sin redemption was done
('The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
I the Lord search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.)

Does anyone consider my times of tribulation?
The waters of her oceanic figure guides me still
She leads me beside quiet streams of jubilation
Desolation is nowhere to be seen anymore, for she's a keeper of the radiant rivermill
For you and I to swim to in times of need, away from the adversary
For you and I to nourish our marvelous seed of serenity's sanctuary
Acknowledge my pain-staking regret, left unseen in most stranger's vacant eyes that hopelessly stare
I am left unstable on the table like a weeping infant, fighting life or death in reality's strange nightmare
You thrive on my sorrowful realm of thought that course inside me and I recognized that I needed to apologize because I ignored your cries
You're alive and I survived, so appreciate me for who I've become, not who I was before and we are significantly stronger than we realize
Reach out to adequately hopeful horizons,
Oh godly daughters and sons
And always remember without a trace of fear -
We will be rescued from the waters of Aphradere
As long as we have an incredible interlude
And an everlasting attitude of gratitude
Listen, she whispers in our dreams
As we almost fall away at the seams:
Remember me,
Remember me
Remember me always
For, the waters of Aphradere has reached its interlude…
She doesn't mean to intrude...she just wants to be understood
Listen, she whispers in our dreams
As we almost fall away at the seams:
Remember me,
Remember me
Remember me forevermore
She's the bittersweet rainstorm
That you abhor and adore
She's beyond the norm as she lays unnoticed like a puddle in your dorm…
Drowning in the waters of Aphradere
What's been lost has been lost for many a year
She wants to hold on to you and I oh so dear
To give us cheer, yet it's weighing us down with anxieties that draw near
She whispers steadily:
Remember me - that's my only plea -
As I spiral away and away
Into the drain speedily
Into the interlude of everyday's relief and dismay
Forget and forgive Aphradere's waters of shimmering shame
Give gladness, glory and honor to God's most gracious Name
Grief will not conquer us as long as our final outcome
Is to wait patiently for something bigger than us - His Kingdom

In the event that riches is the key to joy, at that point
The 'RICH' ought to move in the city.
Yet, just 'POOR' kids do that.
On the off chance that force guarantees security, at that point
The 'Authorities' should walk unguarded.
In any case, the individuals who 'LIVE SIMPLY', rest adequately.
In the event that excellence and acclaim bring ideal connections, at that point
'Famous people' ought to have the best relationships.
Yet, it's not here.
Effortlessness drives the world
So consistently recollect to
Live Simply, Walk Humbly & Love Genuinely..!!!!

WATERFALLS, RIVERS AND DROUGHT
The frenzied forces of cold, icy streams
detonate explosively on the rocks below.
Their rapid currents wreak havoc
on logjams caught in crevasses beneath
the mist and rainbowed spray.
We blink in awe to see this
spectacular remonstration
of pretentious power abruptly
become whirling vortexes
of descending splash downs.
But then, almost as quickly, this despoiler settles
and begins to accumulate in multitudes
of rippling bubbles and froth
immediately bleeding onto the embankment
promptly losing much of its potential goodness
swooshed as sucking sounds
into the wild soils of the firmament.
What survives roams free and for awhile
flows in any direction, with no beginning, no end
as the river turns into riverlets
Eddying on without any selected steering.
The rains that used to drip down from the mountain top
cry to see the diversions of the most glorious river
dissipate and dry up knowing that the drought
which has appeared can not adequately supply
sustenance to a parched soil.
For that sunbaked soil to be reclaimed
the river must continue to extend its reach
and water the seeds of new growth.
and use its silt to fertilize the new life
that waits anticipating its turn
in creation's timetable.

What words do I write? What words can I say?
About my dear Mother, when there is really no way...
To adequately state, to totally uphold,
A real superwoman which never gets told.
The credit she deserves cannot be explained.
Exalt her I do for she's truly ordained.
Her spirit is relentless. Her courage so great.
With a heart so big I can only elate.
Her will is astounding though her mountains are steep.
Her compassion's abounding. Her integrity runs deep.
With endurance so endless and vitality, did I mention?
Perseverance, she has plenty; her best, her intention.
A greater compliment I could never receive,
Compared with my mother? Truly, I can't even perceive,
For she is unique, surely one of a kind.
For one, even remotely, like her I never could find!
My dear Mother I honour. My dear Mother I praise.
The Lord, always, He's with her for she lives by His Ways.
Never shall I know again, one so dear and true.
My dearest, most beloved friend, I truly, deeply love YOU!!!

It's not about barbeques,
Hamburgers and franks
It's a day set aside,
For offering our thanks,
For those who died,
Or were injured or maimed
To fight against evil,
Whatever it's named
Pity that God couldn't
Give them this day,
To let them come back home,
To their families and stay
Just one day a year
To retaste their love,
And let their dear souls,
Know how we think of them
While they're above,
They sacrificed their greatest gift
To keep us safe
Though in sadness we drift
No more Thanksgiving dinners,
Movies or pies,
Just a host of loved ones
Who can't dry their eyes
I salute you dear brothers in arms,
Men, women, children with innocent charms,
You've done your job,
So adequately well,
It's up to us now,
We live in hell.
Sorrow so heavy
we bend at the knees
No trick or substitution
Ever will please
We hang up your picture
But it doesn't talk back
The love we did share,
We now sorely do lack
Your family and friends,
And your whole country too
Does cry for your sacrifice,
And salute you.

"The Value of Reading"
messages impressed
upon the secret keepers.
when is late too late?
to divulge the truth?
"I know this is a shock"
arrives far too late
when it is anticipated
by the writer pundit

if all should go awry?

but you, so-and-so
are already gone.

"I will not adopt that ungenerous and impolitic custom so common with novel-writers, of degrading by their contemptuous censure the very performances, to the number of which they are themselves adding—joining with their greatest enemies in bestowing the harshest epithets on such works, and scarcely ever permitting them to be read by their own heroine, who, if she accidentally take up a novel, is sure to turn over its insipid pages with disgust. Alas! If the heroine of one novel be not patronized by the heroine of another, from whom can she expect protection and regard? I cannot approve of it."

Narrative
Please do not hold me within those claws of unworthiness
As if your judgment alone DEFINES me!
Get out of here, you little baby,
You don’t recognize what’s good for you!
Push away the peas,
But you’re still going to have to eat them!!!!
Your fresh eyes glanced easily upon stupidity,
No, not stupidity—merely mistake!
An innocent, mind-begrudging mistake!
That, yes, I admittedly made. . .
This is not even a scratch on the surface—
Not even a soft powder-pat on your tiny balls
That little trip up you witnessed,
That you misconceived as smart-alecky trash,
That you automatically assumed was ME,
It was YOU
So, rest easy,
I mashed the peas for you:
My heart is pumping with what you will never know
I am bleeding along the surface of your hardened exterior
I am a silly mistake in the form of a slip of the finger—
An acquitted mistake
That I will never make again
(trust me on that one, OLIVER!)
With all the efforts of justification,
You rest your eyes with utter annoyance upon me now
For that human, that CHILD standing there,
Smiling in the light like a sunburned baby’s ass
Is nothing but a diaper-filled disruption—
A **** disturbance uncalled for
But is adequately named, the one who IGNORES
The moment I looked at you, Oliver
I was certain of a sweet heart
It was in your eyes—a trust of kindness so genuine
So attractive you were,
Full of newness—a shiny toy that remains in the box
Limited edition (emphasis on limited)—exclusive….
By Destiny’s pacifying distain,
She taught me I could be crushed of dreams
The moment I fall on my face—
That people are not always who you think they will be
That I could be utterly and undeniably wrong in the good I see
And God, you sir, are so deliberately ugly to me!!!!!!
How’s that for an ETERNAL impression?!
*Sorry guys. But I needed a raw rant off my chest. Love you guys immensely. If there’s an Oliver that reads this poem on here, I promise I am not aiming this at you babe….just had to make that clear…. XD *

Experts recommend warming up before exercising to adequately prepare the body and get the most benefit from the workout
I know this for a fact as I do about seven to ten minutes stretching before
After my daily morning exercises
The same applies to our participation in Mass. When our hearts and minds are properly prepared
Our experience is richer
Try these ideas to have a great Eucharistic workout
Prepare for exertion
We come to Mass not as spectators but as participants
Prepare to join with other members of the Body of (Father) Christ in Prayer
Worship
Thanksgiving
Communion
Stretch out
Is something holding you back from giving your whole love Attention to Eternal God
If you are carrying worry
Anger
Resentment
Guilt
Spend a few moments letting it go
Start slowly
Arrive early to review the readings
Ask what Eternal God is trying to tell you
Personally
In the words of Scripture
Get into the Zone
Something amazing happens every moment during the Mass
Don’t miss a single one
Think about what you are saying as you recite the prayers
Enthusiastically speak the responses
Sing with your whole heart
Allow yourself to be awed by receiving the Body and Blood of Father Christ in the Eucharist
Cool down
After the celebrant leaves the Church
Spend a few moments figuring out what Eternal God wants
you to do for the next week
As a result of what you just heard and said

Light Verse
Always treasure what you write
Have your pencil and pad with you at all times
you might think of a subject
or a verse
write it down so you won't forget
Get all your ideas down
then try to rearrange them to make them flow and give them ultimate impact
to reflect the tone or slant of the piece of writing
Move words around in your sentences and see which sounds better
Capture a moment or an emotion always put your thoughts into words in whatever way you think most adequately displays them
Be alerted by nature and images you see around you
focus on the way it moves
Describe your subject
Find all sorts of descriptive words
Follow your insight; transport yourself to a location you want to write
Put yourself in its place and use all your senses
What do you
See,
Hear,
Smell,
Feel,
Taste,
Title is so very important in capturing the reader’s attention
It predicts content
It catches the reader’s interest
Truly valued verses of inspiration
Your heart is your guide
Encourage yourself
When you read others work, please be kind we all love to hear inspiring encouragement that motivates to keep writing
If critiquing is done in a nice way we don't mind hearing it, that is how we learn and grow.
