Best Absconding Poems
Five fingers of joy
slyly, coyly burgles; he's
absconding with koi.
As you like it, as you wish;
carpe carpum: seize the fish!

(for The Beloved and in honor of Arthur Rimbaud)
… the magnolias are far away – still, I sing, begging
them for bridges to
brood with stanzas of butterflies
in the suffocation around and
heat mocking the sea where once we walked the shore
beneath the cruel commas of hawks
showering seraphimic curses,
pink roses upon storms
flung upward from spotted, inverted baskets, northern Iranian
mountains
aching
praying
wandering
the cavern between the olive-minuet of your eyes and
mine absconding their color from above and knitted by
anguished waves stumbling, floundering
into lunar mercury,
the slant of scouring rain
throwing blue into our faces
in cadences
dribbling from
lemons and leaves of tea, strong with riots
of black peppers hurting our tongues
along the central street
of our knowing, speaking
silence
without riddles
yet wrapped about our shoulders
with brazen mysteries hovering above
the staring magnolias
which now have crowded in...
… though I still sing
and always will...
… of you...

The sky bathes the harbor in cyan turquoise
cadet-blue sea foam bubbles the only gorget one has
versus the flamingos and canaries absconding littoral mire
the gashes on my feet, the burn in my gracilis
have returned me yet again to
sanctum:
la vie en rose,
where
lips breathe lunarias into drift bottles
love songs the only tune in our ears,
lilac mica on denim morpho
is the heart in my chest,
and the color of your hair
when the sun decides
its inevitable rest
everything must come to an end,
but the feeling I get
when you scrunch your nose
and shake wisteria dust
off raven plumes
eclipsing spinel
opals
and if describing them is the one thing I can do,
then the paint in my mouth may go stale
fingertips now pruney, lazy, tired
vision indispensable falling pallid
the paper of my visage a
wrinkly,
sallow
pity
but the young wish of a besotted soul
to grow old with your puling orbs
granted
ink sinks the coral lens
your darling hands
have fixed over my head
but my legs are torn,
and my teeth broken
aching
for another laugh
rumbling through
your vibrating back
that my cheek is pressed into,
and I drown
willing
smile
wistful
hush
still.

My muse blew a fuse
Without excuse fealty did recuse
In jilting fashion without compassion
Tendered passion did stingily ration
Lofty discourse from pen did divorce
With no remorse absconded every resource
My inspiration turned to perspiration
Hopeless itinerant somewhat penitent
The bartered lexicon I did recon
A vagrant shill seeking to rill
The run-off spill pages to fill
A pilfered title would move engine from idle
An embezzled theme would ideas stream
A trite rhyme would be sublime
A pawned metaphor to open the door
A brokered simile; a borrowed metonymy
Would re-collect the literary dialect
Now shorn from mind so forlorn

wispy …
tendrils of light
faint, hushed feathers of trickling lucence
an impish muster of sprites
shimmering in a mosh pit swirl of
proscribed whispers, limpid
absconding the darkness, once bound
giggling to rest on the cool, flat sand
content to adorn whate'er surface it bespokes
(blessed be that which it may grace
though by happenstance alone)
coruscation, set alight
Indulgence for its own regard
drowning joyfully for
the sake of a thirst insatiable
and crimping the fine edges of patience
a breath of the firmament
sighs sent forth from the sky itself
brisk and aromatic
just keen enough to rouse …
lashes bat, soft
then quick ... and quick again
oh, the rich and sultry sin beneath
if but a gaze should settle upon you …
exist not, the coffers to equate such worth -
she is divine purity, sublime
and it is no mystery, the light hence
it was borne here for her singular revelation
that no eye EVER strain to behold her countenance
that no ear ever long for her voice
or no heart know her absence
she is the maelstrom of Heaven's shining gasp
and the custodian of dreams
winged and awakened …
amaranthine.

THE FALL OF THE WHITE ELEPHANT’S CAN’T FAIL IDEA
No self-respecting politician wanted to drink from that well
the self-inflicted delusion persisted for the faithful
they were shocked but not surprise when they learned
the head elephant had walked away with much cash
But his larcenous ways landed him in prison
Money, something very dear to his black heart,
or where his heart should have been,
felt good; he didn’t need the cash, he had said
he was wealthy and his multitudes believed his every lie
On and on he talked, the media checked his words
but to no avail nobody believed the lies the media reported
since they trusted their leader, no one questioned him,
lying became a part of his steady rhetoric and he escalated it
Until the day his forty thousand obvious lies were too much
and he lost the election by ten million votes
and true to his character he did not leave with dignity
he left violently
Not a word was heard throughout the broken party called the GOP
even they forgave him for absconding with much money
but the opposition had done its job of throwing the corrupt out
he and he was gone back to con-scam land where he had come from
But the gullible sycophants naively incapable of learning history's lessons
without critical analysis of what had brought down their party
immediately began searching for the one who could finesse the lies
their motto became "Stay True to the Big Lie" or "Ignorance is good"
The blind faithful obeyed his misguided verbal bellows
to vilify, discredit, attack and continue his false self-righteous ways
to obstruct the law that was in hot pursuit
the news that he was to be punished comforted the American citizen
But on and on they go lying and denying to this day
what the rest of the world knows to be true
but the demolished idea of establishing the next Fourth Reich
died when the cell door slammed shut
This land that's always searching for ways to perfect the imperfect law,
assist our sacred Constitution to forge forward
always seeking to instruct on freedom, liberty, justice
and improving those citizens' minds imbued with incalculable stupidity.

For ages, I used to rear my goats serenely;
Before I invited Mr. Hyena at home.
Green prairie my goats adored around the home.
Peace, the rustics relished too;
But an intolerable mistake I made inviting him.
Peace and life of villagers he happily bothered.
As an approachable and judicious man, he came;
With everyone and every junction to acquaint:
Who did what, who slept where and when, he learned.
To viciously raid all the goats;
Eating some and scarring others.
Distress and insecurity led others to absconding.
As some of our friends, Mr. Hyena behaved.

Power of a fancy
over good reason,
My imagination !
A force of nature
trust or truth,
delight of an immature?
No war no red earth
no remonstrance,
A fascination ?
Bumptious or chagrined
deeply possessed neurotic,
an absconding notion ?
Pulling me in pool of love
then announce exile,
Inchoate insight ?
My imagination
makes me a fool,
A weird hallucination ?

Obscured stood I, absconding the realm of dreams
Began my search, for neither messiah nor elf
Looked through my heart, into eyes umpteen
Probed for thy mirror, in hunt for myself.
Wandered the summits, skies that kiss
Touch they couldn't this heart's flight
Delved the deeps, profoundest abyss
Satiate they couldn't, this soul's delight.
Many an eye met, met only mine eyes
Free could none, me from my cage
Many an eye saw, saw only the guise
Retaliate could none, my own image.
At length heaven's heard, what prayeth my heart
The nights that wept, my tears they wiped
From Elysium to me, my Aeneas didst depart
To drench this heart ; the rose that dried.
He maketh us one, severred He didst send
Thy heart in my bosom, mine in thy sheath
In Lachesis' leaves, was liaison blest penned
Merging in thine, my soul, paradigming complete.
In cavernous depths, a desire doth dwell
From thy chalice humble, sip nectar divine
In thy virgin embrace, the Seventh Heaven fell
Lie bacchic in thee, till death of time.
Plunged in thine orbs, doused in thy ocean
In crimson love, Draped I, add kind Eros' coal
Robed in thy hues, perfumed thy love potion
At thy feet, Sate I, at mine cosmos whole....

Falling darkness of feigning eyes
Upon orbs of virtue they arise,
Absconding the feigned
The righteous, reigned,
Palliative now malice
Grief now crystallized, callous,

Of honor’s destruction,
The malicious address

Their plague, fallacy displayed,
The truthful now berate
O, their spirit of faith,

A bristling quill with no well to descend
No gratuitous frills on vapid contours suspend

Imploring vagabond seeking itinerant dividend
Wading through flooded channels, silty grains to append

Technology's necessity, without it we would die, it's
fascinating really how computers run our lives,
the tapping of the keyboard and the clicking of the
mouse, it's gotten so that folks don't even have to
leave the house.
The world's right at our fingertips and there's no way
around, the fact that all you need is just a debit card
account,
to pay for what you wish, your items may get freely
shipped, you may get really gipped but I aint really
sayin spit,
I'll change it up a bit, now ev'rybody lose your mind, I
don't mean goin crazy just expand it and refine,
imagine you're agoraphobic, scared to go outside,
computers then present a slight resemblance of a
life.
The script rotates with ease I flip it 45 degrees, you
got the shady ones out there that steal identities,
bring fam'lies to their knees, absconding quick with
50 Gs, a scam that's ran leaves both the check and
save stash hittin E.
They're also in the mobile phones, there're no more
phones at home, no cordless in the kitchen only
touch screen mobile tones,
that come with email, news and weather packaged
up in foam, remember when we knew our peoples'
numbers from the dome?
I stand up self admittedly absorbed in techno-lust,
it's fright'ning if you ponder, it could all end with a
touch,
of just a button, maybe 2, a maze of 82, Verizon's the
horizon so we're really praising who?
The media in print is by the wayside, take a look,
we'll move a cursor but won't flip the pages in a book,
on that aspect I'm old school up unitl I d-i-e, you'll
always find a paper or a hardback right by me.
The future's in the hands of those who strive to make
it more, than being slaves to microchips like
Terminator 4,
there will be no salvation when the Ipads mess us
up, Steve Jobs is worshipped more than God,
beware of techno-lust.
