The Headliner

             Dolce
By:Sonidos de Baja Frecuencia

Infatuation is blind to problems
wishful thinking and careful
considerations
True love requires and fosters
a sense of security
and a feeling of trust
the blind sense of security

                   Legato
By:Ritmos Románticos
             A style
cantabile and sooth flowing
it echo's even when the song is over
it moves your emotions
and causes you to think
it can create sessions of conversations
where many people move toward
looking forward to certain things
love enhances a romantic feel
the right sound and situation
a genre rich
crossovering perfection
rehersted, restyled
and of pitch and perfection
that close to perfect directing
guiding and leading the way

Premium MemberBaja Aha!

In the winter of life
Escape to waters azure
Forget stress and strife
Baja adventure’s a  lure

Friends from bygone years
Brothers for sure
Through pain and tears
We helped each other endure

At Big Daddy’s Bungalow
A safe harbor of choice
Reunion bestowed
Old friends do rejoice

A chance to reflect
On paths we have tread
Of the roads behind us
And the few up ahead

With more life behind us
Than we have up ahead
It makes us give thought
And causes slight dread

What will we finally leave
Of substance and grace
When from life we are cleaved?
When we end the race?

The family we grew,
The friends we have made,
The impacts not few
Not the monies we’ve saved

Premium MemberGentle Earth, I Beg of You -

Gentle Earth, I beg of you –
Whisper to us the first sign of spring.
Annul this wintry despair
And a season of life anew, bring.
From the depths of Baja
Carry the warmth in upon a draft.
Poke the sunshine through grumbly clouds
And send it down as a gilded shaft.
Clothe the desert with the raiment
Of fleeting sheets of white rain.
Implore the wildflowers that they
Bestow upon us a fantastic display.
Help the button-face of the brittlebush
Peep over the dead, crumpled brush.
Bring forth the canyon penstemon.
Make the Mexican lime cactus flush.
With one quick stroke of rain
Paint the delicate creosote yellow.
Order the Engelmann’s cactus to raise
Their trumpets of fuchsia and blow.
Tempt forth the birds to sing – listen!
I beg, usher March in.

The Bahama Islands , Our Nation of Shallow Seas

The Bahama  Islands
our nation of shallow seas
our archipelago in the sun we live on
which the Lord our God
laid our foundation of life
upon the shallow plantations
of The Atlantic Ocean

We are a consecrated nation
the envy of our Greater Antillean siblings
the best kept secret
for in the eyes of our Creator
our seas as transparent
as the bottom of a glass window boat
and prickly coral reefs
glistening like Christmas lights
an easy targets for astronauts
to choose next year's tropical vacation
while spying from deep space

Columbus and the Spaniards
even called us "Baja Mar"
because of our glorious foundation
upon the shallow seas
from our Mighty Creator from up above
hence our area code being 242

Premium MemberCamel Ride In Cabo

Visualize Mexico’s Baja Peninsula
Let’s take a camel safari in Cabo San Lucas
We will hop on a hump
Might see pods of dolphins and whales
While we are on our leisurely stroll
for camels do not run, they walk.
Giving us more time to enjoy the beautiful Pacific Ocean

Mountain Rain Robbers
David J Walker

Before passing over
This part of the plains

The cumulonimbus fleet
Take a long drink

from the gulf of
Baja California

From El Nino and La Nina ‘s
Playground

Bearing Gifts of rain
The passing clouds gather

But are often robbed in the
Sierra’s along the way

Eyewitnesses all say
The same description

A  distraction lost
In the beauty of the Mountains

Thoughtlessly robbing the Rain clouds
Rerouted into shimmering rivers

Taking away the pure waters
That were headed our way

Premium MemberThe Sounds of the River Drums-Spanish Verse Part 2-

SONIDOS DE LOS TAMBORES DEL RÍO
COMO EL SONIDO DEL BEAT VA, TUM, TUM, TUM
A medida que el sonido del tambor late boom, boom y boom
Corriente de las aguas del río fluyendo;
Bajando los valles gritando.
Fluyendo donde puede tragar;
Las aves descienden, picoteando los cuerpos de peces que emergen ahora flotando;
Las olas gritaban los nombres de los que se alejaban, se escapaban;
Olas de las aguas aguas poco profundas turbulencia aguas agitadas;
Evita que la premisa diga
Corriendo por la corriente corriendo contra los troncos contra las orillas del río
En voz baja oímos los tambores de las olas que golpean en sus orillas;
En silencio oímos los tambores tum, tum, tum, boom, boom boom;
Tum,
     Tum,
        Tum,
El sonido de los tambores de río;
Hacer peaje
Los sonidos de los tambores de río, llamada;
Están llamando nuestros nombres;
El sonido de los tambores de río;
Beat tum, tum, tum;
Los sonidos de los tambores de río;
The sounds of the river drums;

Escatologia

Levanté mis ojos
y todo cuanto vi fue
un incendio de cruces en
la parte baja del puerto.
Entonces sentí
en el alma la angustia
de un ángel ***** que
gritaba grandes cosas.
Rebusqué entre
las piedras una angosta
hendidura para ocultarme.
De los pantanos
neblinosos salieron
precipitadas hordas
de escorpiones armados
de pestes y de
temerosas desgracias.
Como la sombra de un
silencio salvaje,
sobre la copa del sol,
entonces la luna vertió
todo el tejido de su
nauseabunda sangre.

Premium MemberAnacreontic Verse the Grunion Are Running

Oh summer moon
your soft light
highlights my hair,
makes me aware
of the ocean tides
when the grunion
run at very high
tides, as females
dig their tails
into the sand to
lay their eggs.
Fertilization
from a male
occurs and after
ten days with the
next set of high
tides, eggs hatch
and young grunion
are washed out to sea.
So come with me
tonight, let’s have
some fun because
the grunion are
running and I long
to be with you
on the sandy shore
grunion hunting
once more.

Anacreontic Verse 4 - Poetry Contest - Sponsor Edward Ebbs

Grunion are two fish species of the genus Leuresthes: the California grunion, L. tenuis, and the Gulf grunion L. sardinas. They are sardine-sized teleost fishes of the Atherinopsidae family of New World silversides, found only off the coast of California, USA, and Baja California, Mexico, where the species are found on both the Pacific Ocean and Gulf of California coasts. Many people enjoy catching grunion at events called "grunion runs."
