As I lay on mounds of a shoreline,
weightless in eyes' astounded spirit
blending with angels, dirt, and crosses;
my soul bears this emptiness
in writhing streams omnipresent for day
and twilight's heavy float-- hours change
beyond primitive instincts--a landscape
of bittersweet cycles appear, and below it,
the fluidity from incandescent waters lap
on mouths of frozen stars requesting patience.
Here am i sprouting below, above and under
their flesh; fulfilling my need for deliverance
out of some needled pinch :
awash by whimper of rain , all senses
moored and fashioned so lamely
on brittle soil of life unlived ,
seeking a depth of quiet within myself
time rippling upon this decayed shell undersea...
yet nothing came except a leaf falling.

Wilma was a pretty little thing.
Ed decided she would like American cheese.
So that is what he gave her as a pre-date present.
Wilma was astounded; this was the only cheese she did not eat.
Her dog loved all cheeses, so he was the recipient of this feast.
His next date was with Peggy, a girl from an Irish clan.
For some reason he pegged her as a connoisseur of cottage cheese.
Without asking her, he surprised her with a carton on their first date.
This was their last date.
Peggy would have rather had candy or flowers.
Third time is a charm, his mother told him.
She was the instigator of the cheese presents.
She hoped to keep him home the rest of his life.
He was a baby, only twenty-three. Her baby.
He had a date with a Marla, a woman from New Zealand.
She has blonde hair; blondes love cheddar cheese, his mother told him.
This time she was right, and he ran off with Marla.

the angel had a surreal glow that astounded me
I felt star-struck; was she my guardian angel?
She or he? It was impossible to tell which.
The angel’s voice gave me no clue either.
Androgynous angel, so I shall call her A.A.
I wanted to speak of the violence.
But I did not want to alarm her.
There are many good people here.
I did not want her to get the wrong impression.
I told her about the school shootings in the USA.
She listened, without comment.
I told her about New Zealand. They had a school shooting once.
They did not publicize the name of the perpetrator.
They did not give him notoriety or fame of any sort.
There was no spread in any magazine about him or his family.
No one raised money for his defense in a go-fund-me account.
Why doesn’t the USA do that? She asked me.
We are crazy here, I told her.
We have a convicted felon as our president.
A man who said he wanted to be a dictator and now he is one.
Our laws say even the criminally insane can purchase guns.
the NRA rules us in the USA
The angel was speechless

Helena had always wanted to be a professional hiker more than a bit.
Her parents thought it dangerous, and tried to talk her out of it.
When she was eighteen, she got herself enormous hiking boots.
And proved she could master mountains, bears, tigers and bandicoots.
Her parents were astounded, to them she was just a baby.
She laughed at their consternation and joined the navy.
The navy got her ready to become a guide full time.
She was marching herself all over by age twenty-nine.
A crooked hiking stick, short blue cut-offs and a tiny bird.
Followed her up and down, as she ate strange goat curd.
Helena was an adventurer, an explorer, and a hiker too.
Wearing striped socks, carrying her bed roll, blue.
Her parents backed off when they saw her joy.
She sometimes passed by to yell “ahoy!”
On a pirate ship or a submarine.
She only lingered in their dream.

Your beauty I am astounded as if sun rise sky
A soft voice, tender smile filled enticing enthusiast
Behind it, I can feel vibes of a good soul
My words twisted like two entangled breathless
I speak them many times, over and over
How this suppose play out in real world
Romanticism between souls as heart's fall
I see you, my breath gasp deeply inside
Your scent I long smell of essence upon me
A touch of your heart, to feel its passion
The beat of life's infatuation you move me
Beyond the depths stir aroused curiosity
Of life's wondrous beauty my eyes find love
Before me, a piece of heaven made with love
My desire for need I want I feel
To be near you, curled in warmth sensation
A gioconda masterpiece for all the world
Framed in exquisite quality to human nature
True beauty of love, capturing hearts for eternal
You and I, bare to life's existence for being

The soothsayer slowly moved her hand over the crystal ball.
I predict a death, she told the man.
I am sorry, but it might be your death.
This surprised his wife, and horrified his daughter.
They were astounded and shocked by this news.
Which is a bit odd
Since he is 91.

He was parked on top of a worn satchel in Omaha
In the middle of a train station, so lah-dee-dah
Where was his child? He began to scream for his ma.
She ran up and grabbed him by his fluffy padded paw
I told you he would wait for me she told her astounded mother.
He is more than my pet, my cuddler, my protector, and a brother
My teddy bear is the one who loves me the very most.
He adores me! She told the other passengers, in an honest boast.

I bask in the shell you chose
And for just one moment
I remember looking up to you
Wide eyed and astounded
I helped move the TV into your trailer
I remember Adam, I remember the dogs,
I remember you
What happened?
What years have you endured that you
stand in your mother's yard, under her tree,
declawed, defanged, dessicated
so small
How dare you look up at me,
How dare you break away from your crypt,
You were a cautionary tale.
I
I can't find myself to be angry,
Not in the way that I used to be.
Besides,
You've done ten rounds with another demon
And those bruises won't fade.
They'll seep into the deep set lines of your face.
I thought it was her under the tree.

How much does the average cumulus cloud weigh?
I watch one glide across the sky at sloth speed
It is fluffy, white and porous with a shine of light blue
Dainty and light, it weighs maybe six pounds I guess
The scientist visiting me laughs.
An average cumulus cloud weighs as much as one hundred elephants.
She is kidding, right?
I stare at the cloud, astounded.
As soon as this know-it-all leaves, I plan to look this up.

I sit and look surrounded,
By this subtle sounding wood.
I can’t help but be astounded,
That something so simple could.
Am I free or grounded?
What happened where I stood?
These feelings have compounded,
And their meanings misunderstood.

Under cyanic horizon Sun sinks down, bids bye.
Twilight is welcomed by quiet evening sky.
In V-shaped design eager egrets to fly.
Sadness prevailing ! cawing crows cease to cry.
Me tangled in twilight , mesmerized.
Dusty dusk, wearing misty mask coming nigh.
To reflect sunrays soon Moon is sure to try.
Twilight will also tend to fade , feeling shy.
My forgotten past love whispering to sigh .
Me tangled in twilight , hypnotized.
Sun completes it's daily path from East to West
Weary birds stop chirping, seeking rest at nest.
Glow worms about to start glow warm at its best
Memories of amour are my best asset.
Me tangled in twilight, astounded.
After watching calm tranquil twilight.
Morose evening merging to turquoise night.
Bygone days, not always, brilliant bright.
Assessing loss or gain in grief and delight.
Me tangled in twilight, felt wounded.

Snow White was astounded at their love for her
Seven little munchkins, whose hearts were pure.
She had not felt this kind of love for many years
Together they had alleviated her stepmother fears.
They were marvelously helpful dwarfs who loved her so.
With them around, she felt beloved, her heart all aglow.

With objectivity, do we listen to the sounds of the political season?
With prayerfulness, do we observe the flow of the why and the reasons?
Pay attention, if we care or even dare, to the USA's Presidential races.
We might just be surprised at the rhythm of America's political traces.
We might be astounded by the similarities and the scale of balances.
Tune in to the complexities, deficiencies, and the amazing differences.
This is the time to be courageous, not afraid, and filled with anxieties.
Through all the print, data, and chatter, may we hear The Almighty.

heaven’s knight
he walks across the clouds
the first one to greet me
I am astounded
is this Jesus?
I am too shy to ask
He takes my hand
leading me back across the wave of clouds
I feel beloved, appreciated, respected
without words he has alleviated my fears.
I follow the way a lost sheep follows a shepherd
which he is, right?
