Premium MemberLamp

Lamp is the sun of the night that dispels darkness.
Is a lit lamp put under the bed? Jesus asked
It's placed on a stand to bring out outright brightness.
With its warmth, the nocturnal environs are basked.

With radiance, shimmer, and illumination
A lamp brings hidden things to light when daylight fades.
For movements, the earthlings get their regulation
With the wonder of sight, peacefulness pervades.

Each movement of existence is an endeavor.
Though the might of vile seems to over-weigh goodness
The truth is the truth. Lies can't end it forever.
The divine dwells in our journey towards fullness.

Listen well! Jesus said, See! Watch! Be observant!
Fulfilling aptitudes, keep your being fervent!

Marred fictions of emus, ostriches
dip their heads neath, were hailed
by Ancient Rome's false divination,
of individuals, whose conquest of
enshrining their implied role.

Emancipated exacters, whereto,
the subjugators of the unlearned
majority, daily context by untruths,
orientations hard-pressed, by
tainted thumbs of paperwork,
loads conveniently,
mache for obvious design.

Decaying precursors demonocracy,
aptitudes knotting promotes,
a panache promenade of quilted
quids, as characters clash with
reality quarrels, as a shoreline
of sculpted castled sands, drift to
its emptiness of their costly
noted, S.O.S.

The absence of freedom is a true
reinvention for the masses, to
rummage and further wander, its
lineage of class enumeration
liken to some zombie apocalypse,
clueless beginning.

Lo and behold, its keepers adrift,
salty surges hath rise o'er, the
fresh living waters.

In the Stillness of the Night

In the stillness of the night
when the world is asleep
and the place is at peace,
I bask giddily in quiet solitude.

Nothing’s quite like it. Feeling as light as a kite.
No noise or burden on me creep.
Only the still voice from within that I welcome with ease.
I relax with a positive attitude.

No room for thoughts that fill with fright.
No time for emotions that'll drown me deep.
Shutting those out, I take in and release
Only what's good for mankind. I'll rise and reach new altitudes.

I turn on my happy glowing light.
Its rays into my soul seep.
I smile at man's ingenuity such as this.
I'm filled with hope and immense gratitude.

Thinking of what I can add to make the world happy and bright
Something to treasure and to keep.
I’ll create a nice, uplifting piece.
I wonder at all of mankind's expressive aptitudes.

What beacons of hope can I ignite?
Make doubtful minds and sad hearts leap.
Make negativity and hate cease.
Inspire creativity and world peace.

I’ll use the stillness of the dark to inspire and not incite.
I’ll share with love and enlighten multitudes.

Charmful lemon-shaded dragon,
Happy and respectful!
Aptitudes off the charts as a
Reassuring and delightful storyteller.
Intelligent beyond belief and
Overwhelmingly friendly and truthful while
Tending a pumpkin patch!

Premium MemberOur Bountiful God

Our God is bountiful because of his charitable, liberal way
Of allowing us to steer our own lives into the creek or a bay
He gives us the experiences we need to make it in this world.
We are gifted the talents and aptitudes he has gently swirled.

He is liberal with his giving, issuing talents to us in twos and threes.
Stands back, allowing us the freedom to hang them on our own breeze.
His love is bountiful, as is his help in the ways of answering a prayer.
Know that He is forever faithful. He always listens, and He always doth care.

Our life is ours to instruct the way we think He would like it to go.
We develop our opinions and attitudes in our own experience glow.
This life is the best there ever was.
Our God is bountiful because….

Premium MemberOur Bookworm

No print on hand-held screens can draw her in...
for only hard-bound, covered books are gems;
held close with love, absorbing through her eyes,
those magic words that fill her heart and mind.

At just months old, she trembled at their sight...
small story books grasped firmly in her hands.
Her mom would read the words, and one by one
she savored them like candy-coated treats.

A 'bookworm' during school years, she oft hid
an open one to read, spread on her lap...
when caught, admonished to put it away;
although, with honors, she would graduate.

Fast forward now, with valued books, she works
as high school English teacher, where she spent
four years herself with great books, growing up,
and now promotes the love for them in teens.

Her town's historical society
embraced her research aptitudes and flair
to read, compile, their books of history.
Dear granddaughter...we are so proud of you.

If I Could Change the World

If I could change the world,
There would be world peace,
No one would fight,
Differences accepted,
Everyone be unique.

No more cussing, No more hate,
Only just alot of LOVE!!
Everyone would be friends,
All until the end,
A different world.

A life filled with hope,
A life filled with love.
A life to enjoy.

There would still be imperfection,
Mistakes make us who we are.
We will learn and embrace them.

An angelic world,
A fun world,
Nobody would be in pain.
No more death,
No more grief. Be who you are.

Embrace your aptitudes,
Be kind to others,
IF I COULD CHANGE THE WORLD,
THERE WOULD BE WORLD PEACE!

To Soar

Gone are the days of childlike hope and dreams.
Our tender years were cast on life's broad streams.
Rich mem'ries float on waters still serene,
while thoughts drift past the seasons in-between.

That final bend of river not yet seen,
we set out seeking vistas new and clean,
where aging frame and psyche' still burn bright,
made strong and sharp as blades in morning's light.

We'd dream and see realities yet new.
Our aging forms, set free, would test as true
those aptitudes and skills not proved since youth.
The vision, quite sublime, has become truth.

We'd run the race as when young, full of drive,
to sense a new resolve, to feel alive.
The blood and air would surge deep in our chest,
hearts striving one more time to be the best.

Perhaps, we'd stand on mountain tops and view
our world and all its peoples kind and true.
If foes of that time bid earth-mates good will,
we'd aim from common fate all strife to still.

And, when the course of each life had been run,
we'd pray wise God affirms all was well done,
while setting each soul free from fated slings
he bids us soar on air that yields to wings.

                                     To Soar

My Daughter's Birthday

Today’s my daughter’s birthday
And it sends me reeling back;
Her life was just a question mark,
A code I’d have to crack.

There were no clues to who she’d be –
How cute or smart or charming,
Or whether there might lurk a problem,
Possibly alarming.

I didn’t know what aptitudes
Were tucked away, unbidden,
Just waiting for the chance to sprout
From where they nestled, hidden.

I can’t remember if I’d thought
Of how she might excel –
And if I didn’t, I suppose
It’s really just as well.

For progeny surprise us –
They unfurl like shiny leaves;
And as they grow, we marvel at
The tricks kept up their sleeves.

And what’s revealed may differ from
Our notions, pre-conceived;
But often, we’re in awe of what
They’ve cleverly achieved.

My daughter’s sharp and funny
And her singing steals the show,
Several pieces of the puzzle
That I pondered long ago.
