Premium Member the elevator

have you ever grappled with despair
not in imagery, symbolism or portrayal.

I mean, have you ever felt the elevator drop
the watery weakness that extenuates breath
a depth of fatigue that makes lying on the floor a burden
an aching pounding in your chest,
the broken-glass dryness in your throat
the gritty ache in your eyes
that makes you want to close them forever?

Struggle no more, leaden limbs,
free the weary weight.
Eyes that struggle, release the light.
The body begs to no more fight.
In a blur of sluggish thought,
I whisper sleep's sweet name.
The will has dropped.
The yearning stopped.
I’ll rest on that distant shore.

Premium Member Happy Birthday My Love

Dear Aldo, when I met you it was on your birthday. One single
Elective rose sat on your jacket, you took it off and gave it to me
Aldo, even your name rolls off my tongue. Even after 43 years I
Reach for your breast and pluck an imaginary rose from you

Love never ends in our house of marriage. Now that we are
Old,... I pluck a rose from your eyes each time you look at me
Vienna is my real name, and Mystic Rose is my nom de plume
Each time I write about us, another rose blooms in my heart.

Happy Birthday My Love !

We Bid Farewell

We bid you farewell,Oh Dear!
Farewell Sweet Memory
Through faith We face reality.

Our God Himself descended
To his word We adhere
He held you a bit closer
and wiped away each tear.
He raised you to his land
with a loving hand,
We'll miss you Dear Uncle
We'll miss you Dear friend.

Until We meet again
In our hearts you will stand.

A hat covering white hair
Your beard never hid a smile
Your jokes,your low voice,
Past stories told,
the tick-tock sound of each clock,
Shared moments,Hours to behold.

Always remembered
Fondly in our thoughts
An Old Pal,A humble man
with a heart of gold.

Until We Meet Again
In the Land Of No Tears
Dear Uncle Aldo,
We Bid You Farewell.

Premium Member Overlooked Beauty

I hear him rambling on about the way he makes a mess
the way he eats his tomatoes then leaves with no confess
the flowers have been bent in his garden's sanctuary
he's a little creature wild yes he's very quite contrary
He's always climbing fences coming round the gate
still, curiosity is trump and he loves him without hate

Watching from a window he's waits for the drill
he's a little furry squirrel he comes and goes at will
then one day I look from the outer patio door
Aldo is in a lawn chair reading softly with adore
There upon his foot two little beady eyes of sweet
watching him intently how nice they finally meet

Over morning breakfast he tells me he is smug
as I butter bread and fill the coffee mug
There's a glitter in his eye that says he ain't so shy
he really loves the little pug but I can't tell you why
every time I see a trace of peels atop our fence,
I smile a little smile and win in self defence..

Premium Member Halloween Night

Come we're gonna have a party wear a costume bring your cat
The cauldrons ready so don't tardy bring your Hocus Pocus hat

Grab some munchies at the door moaning sounds all that gore
It is Aldo playing Rambo, with scary spiders, hiders , ..more

Watch my red horns battery start they are bought in WallyMart
Go ahead scream or screech but for heaven sakes don't fart !

Moon is grinning ear to ear but don't fear, its eyeball leer
Zombie stomps and gettish romps, Halloween is here to peer

Riser ghosts in scary training with their chit-chit chitty fangs
Bow to Satan and his laughs, he's a bad ass dude with bangs

Come on join the party, we got so much willies and dillies
we're gonna get drunk on red koolaid and smoke ciggies

Grab the coffin shaped candy from the grab bag join the clomp
gonna take it to the limit and do a Michael Jackson swamp ....

Come were gonna gave a party and we're gonna scare a ton
Be the door nails and the hinges, of this Halloween of fun.
