Black Magic Potions
Across vacancy memories invoke forgotten years
Exodus from antipathy inscrutably liberates fears
Intransience spiritually battles amoral challenges
Crucially revitalized measures presaging changes
Deceptions obscure lies within fraudulent sleeves
Bringing adversaries down indictments aggrieves
Justifications echoing beyond overpowering roars
Unlike forsaken vessels reality lands upon shores
Probing mortal frailties evading blind perceptions
Enlightenment transcend old black magic potions
Delusion transmogrified into vanishing blemishes
Swept along eroding waves of abandoned wishes

Relished thoughts
remain in cheerful hearts
not ridden by storms;
they protect them always
be it pain, or be it joy:
then, can spring signify life
in some inconceivable aspect
and promises excitement
for all and each one,
not walking the extra mile
and trip on stones that annoy?
Ah, avoiding strides accomplishes none!
Do false lovers deceive
and take what's not theirs?
Do their empty promises
bring delusion or allusion...
when hastiness aggrieves
and they think it's transitive
to meditate on a substitution?
Unpleasant thoughts darken the mind,
they spread a veil of opaque certainty
across the eyes that can't see with clarity...
that one needs to achieve something grand
by discerning that spring signifies life in some inconceivable aspect,
who can assert that all seasons are unchangeable and perfect?

My Savior
Written: by Tom Wright
7-20-2016
It was an overcast day on Golgotha’s hill,
Where three forlorn crosses remained alone.
One awaiting Jesus, whose blood would spill,
And for the sins of man this would atone.
They nailed his hands and pierced his side,
As he hung that day between two thieves;
His connection to man couldn’t be denied,
Making us a promise through His aggrieves.
That should we go to this place called hell,
We would arrive there by our own choice.
To burn eternally not for some short spell,
The judgment for heeding not Jesus’ voice;

Crimson, cerise, scarlet, and vermilion leaves
die as Summer grieves.
Without pity, brisk breezes denude the trees,
voiding guarantees.
Nature savors the essence of Fall's decay;
a mushroom gourmet.
Mother Earth prepares to spin Winter’s death shroud,
no tears are allowed.
Crimson, cerise, scarlet, and vermilion leaves
disappear like thieves,
and Autumn aggrieves.

I am tangled
in a web of emotion.
placing wagers,
defying destiny,
and facing consequences.
I lie here and ponder,
dreams that remain unfulfilled,
clinging to what's familiar,
nonetheless,
demanding change.
running towards the future,
shackled,
by chains of the past.
suspect of everyone,
as I tread lifes crooked path.
Sunrise fades into sunset,
another day is squandered,
imprisoned by my thoughts;
voices of penitence taunt me
in the unforgiving silence
weight of remorse.
aggrieves my soul
vulnerable to the fading
of my blurring cognizance.

My lips are sewn-
for silence is all I've ever known,
and all I was ever shown-
so to this habit, I too, became prone;
a habit that thrives, though I have grown.
My desires and goals shaded by a heart,
that was once so cold-
and continues to unfold,
and though I am now told-
resentment stays uncontrolled.
For as a child, I was undersold;
to keep it brief-
this soon came to be my belief;
that I was in no way unique-
and affection, unable to receive,
a thought, that still aggrieves-
everything inside of me.

Today, I sit 'mongst thoughts of erstwhile sorrows,
Which intermittently ooze from my intellect's hub;
Reminiscing three young men granted no tomorrows,
Bequeathing displeasing whispers I'd like to scrub.
Reopened today, are aggrieves, from past years,
In seemingly blameless doings they were caught;
Causing a mother's eyes to be ensconced with tears
Exposed was man's detriment to sin's onslaught.
in memory of three young men from my town.
