Uprising

From aquifer be low
Break surface
Babbling babbling upwell
Plumos in addy.
Purest Earthblood
Clear clean simplicity
Flow cool and true
Always your level
Quietly condially unremitting

Daddy you are the very best
Always loving and so kind
Doing homework~helping me to learn
Doing shopping together is a real treat
You were my angel sent from heaven.

Aria, Parker, Jaina and Addy

Let’s do it again PaPa Jerry
I want to fly clear up to the sun
Higher; it’s just a little scary
Cause swinging with you is so much fun

Round and round is how it’s s’pose to go
Sometimes it gets hard to keep it up
Hula-hoops are so much fun you know
but not for you because you’re grown up

I’m really tired PaPa Jerry
But I do not want to take a nap
my eyes are heavy and I’m weary
can’t I just lay down here on your lap

Not ready for our time to be through
I sure wish that somehow you could stay
Don’t you know just how much I miss you
Whenever you have to go away

Premium MemberI Will Never Forget Daddy Dearest

Daddy dearest, I miss your presence
Always lingering with your love’s trustworthy license
Delighting am I in your memories’ iridescence
Definitely can never be erased by obsolescence…
You surely left me with your great fatherly essence.

Deep down in my heart is your care’s prevalence
Earnestly surfacing midst nostalgic silence
Attending to me against pressures’ turbulence
Reassuring your faithfulness, devoid of indolence
Expressing good testimony’s prominence
Shining* through God’s light and blessings’ fluorescence
Thank you, Dad**; I praise the Lord indeed for your life’s influence.

*Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

**Dad was called to be with the Lord on January 2, 2019.

Premium MemberGhosting

Ghosting

Online friends or family,
So selfish,they.
You could be dead and buried,
How would they know?

These are your best friends,
They loudly pronounce,
They deceitfully say,
Who cannot check emails for
180 days?

Their sidewalk fell in, the washing
machine broke,
Their 40 year old kids have a toothache,
Or in need of a bloke.
Totally, a joke.

Here's my advice, it's childish,not nice!
Tell them to take off their pants
And slide on the ice.
Better yet, change your phone number
and Addy, too!

One need not be ghosted on this
internet zoo.
Just smarten up.
Ghosting is bad for you physically
and mentally.

Premium MemberWhat Is a Stranger

What Is A Stranger
Sitting next to people on a plane
Simply no one wants to share their name
If you talk it is so pretty plain
Many weirdos think you seem insane.

You have to pretend you do not care.
That their left shoulder is on your hair.
You have to remember not to share
Anything while you are in the air.

I once sat by a sweet girl named Addy
On way to see her run-away Daddy.
No one had told her these silly rules.
We talked and laughed like two best friend fools.

What is a stranger? She wanted to know.
I did not know which direction to go.
If I said it wrong, our talking would stop.
She was making easy my little hop.

Premium MemberI'M Not a Baby, I'M Three

Good morning Mommy and Dad
Today I will try not to be bad

I don't know what I want to eat
No! Not that cereal. It's not sweet

Mommy, I don't wanna sit on the baby pot
How come you don't have what Dad I and got

I need a lot more track to play with my train
Mommy, why can't I go out and play in the rain

Why does the cat always run away from me
I didn't mean to pull out her hair, not really.

I need to fix my bike with Daddy's tool
Addy is my favorite girlfriend at school

I don't know why I got into trouble
I just poured out my bottle of bubbles

I'm NOT a baby. I'm big 'cause I'm three
I gotta go to the potty and make pee pee

No. It's not my bath time yet.
I don't know when it is. I forget

But Daddy, I don't want to go to sleep
I can only count as high as ten sheep

I want the pajamas with Lightning McQueen
He's the fastest race car I ever seen

Daddy, read me a story then leave on the light
I love you, Mommy and Daddy. Good night

Diehard Fan

I am a Diehard Cubs fan
Tried and true
I wear cubbies Royal
And I bleed Cubbies Blue
I grew up watching Ernie,Billy and Santo
Ryno, Grace,and Leon
Were all my Heros.
Later it was Sosa, Maddux and Wood
They all lived through the heartbreak
From a team that never could.
Today I watch and smile
Tears run down my face
2016 is the year
My Cubbies are First Place.
Rizzo, Jake and Javi
Kris, and Dexter, Albert
Addy, Ross and Schwarber
Wilson, Edwards, Coghlan
Grimm, Heyward, Lackey
Montero, Mike, Rondon,
Jorge, Pedro, Travis
Aroldis,Zobrist, Maddon
This team have finally done it
Brought the trophy home
For all our family who are gone
They spent their life teaching us
Never to give up, be strong
To Wait till next year
When our magic numbers up
You finally did it guys
The talk of curse is gone
Forever in our hearts you'll be
The team who got it done

Does

Does Dudley still shimmy down a coconut trunk
And Lawford still drives the cart their drunk
Does Melveta still hide under the orange boughs
For Melbourne's coming and his fumbling vows
Does Clifford still bake the aromatic bread hot
And Addy stir thick peas soup or pepperpot

Does Jabez still the cut logwood forest all day
To make the limekiln that brings crowd from far away
And where is Verletta whom my childhood loved
And where is Verletta whom my childhood loved
That Salmon from the Mountainside pond is gone
But I am sure the sun rise there still bright at dawn.

Walking In Graceland

I'm moving up to graceland
you know that mansion over the hilltop
to have just a little talk with jesus
for I don't knock upon his doors
for I know the gates swing open
how great thou art
that we're blessed
in the wonderful grace of jesus
for it's written in red
as I was made a christian
and saw the light while
strolling down beulual lane
out in the sunshine
dear father in heaven
we all can do good
something beautiful
even a whispering hope
sitting down by the old rugged cross
take my hand
precious lord
don't leave me crying in the chapel
move me to your higher ground
crossing the river of jordan
fill my cup lord
to let me rise again
for without you I haven't got a prayer
so please take me as I am jesus
for I'll remain tried and true
for I know there's somebody bigger than you or I
in this wonderment of thy amazing grace

There Is Hope Yet

When we think about life and start to fret
About things we have done that we truly regret
Bad things that we would really want to forget
Just know that things in life we should learn to accept
No reason for our eyes with tears to get wet
We should think about our loved ones and friends we have met
And try to realize that there is no reason to be upset
People care and their love we should take in with every breath
We should let nothing hurt us now, not even death
Life isn’t fair but we should remember and get our minds set
That in this world there is love and there is hope yet

NOTE:
There is hope yet. I would like to invite all soup members who reads this poem to
view the Roses From The Heart site and sign the guestbook. Friends I have here
makes me feel sure that there is indeed hope. Read Carol's blog
entitled "Please" for the site addy. Let us give others hope. Thanks!
