Active vs Retired Life

I face a big dilemma,  
Is active life better than retired? 

In active life, social ties thrive,  
Conversations flow, stirring hearts and minds, 
In retired life, tranquility retreats,  
Fewer interactions, cherished with ease. 

Active sports push boundaries, energy like a fiery spell,  
Retired sports are leisurely, golf swings, fishing trips, 

The Trouble with still being active and old

While no one in their right mind,
Would not want to be old and active,
With a mind that is there most of the time.

Actively searching for other people,
Who are also active,
To be active with,
Whose minds are there most of the time,
Can be time consuming,
And energy sapping,
Which leads to napping,
Instead of actively planning,
Adventures that one still finds

Retired for ten or twelve years now
