You Show Me What I Most Desire and Fear

I thought I found the one, and I knew you were the one. Then one day you made up your mind. You went away. I knew it; it was hopeless to wish for you to stay. We were not meant to be together, our time was done. The sun would fall and rise as you had lain here with me. Truthfully seem that we were meant for one another. Consummated love, but sealed in vain for each other. Your touch had been just wickedly delightful and free. It was hard to think through the fog of light flame desire, every time you would come back and awe aspiration. I shared everything with you, you were my salvation. You stomped over my love and placed it in kindled pyre. 5/3/2018

Very sad...but meaningful. We cannot help how our love is received. We can only love...and possibly let go. Hugs, dear.

I love the last stanza, especially how you rhymed "aspiration" with "salvation" - so moving!

I have never read a love-lost poem any more dramatic than this one. Stomping the love is one thing, butt using a kindled pyre? What a jerk! I hate him for you, Eve. I really do. And if on the other hand this is not true, you are a brilliant feeling-writer.
