You Remember Oceans
You remember oceans
Filling your wet footprints
With foam and salty brines
The tracks you left upon
Seashell crusted shorelines
You remember oceans
As immense illusions
Irregular and curled
Cutting slanted cliffs from
The wild ends of the world
You remember oceans
Majestic and complete
Like your heart
when whales dive
Under aqua castles
Where coral is alive
You remember oceans
In shifting turquoise green
Dawn gold to midnight blue
And, when tides are pulling
Oceans remember you
