Year of the Wig

(This is a true story from 2001, when I let my
hair grow back to dark, and I fooled a few people
who thought the wig was still my own hair but with
a different shade of blonde!)

Growing roots meant bad hair each day;
bought a wig to stay blonde at school.
One guy loved my color that way.
Said, "Your hair's never looked so cool!"

For Rick Parise's "A Bad Hair Day" Contest
using Chastushka (Russian form of poetry
with trochaic tetrameter).

Yes, I've had this happen. I bought a wig once to wear while hair grew back overa place the doctor snipped out when he took a basal cell carcinoma off my head. I had so many compliments on that wig, but I couldn't stand wearing it. Congratulations on a geat win. Love, Joyce

Congratulations Andrea on your win in this contest of Rick--I think my entry didn't meet the criteria of trochaic tetrameter---fumbling on stressed/unstressed syllables!--kashinath

Bought a wig once and wore it one week as a change of hair when I was around 20. It was the hottest thing I ever wore on my head. I think it lasted a week and went into the garbage. My hair would be soaked by the time I got home. (a cheap wig) Love Phyl
