The sky above is a September blue,
my street a picture of serenity;
my whole world painted in a faded hue,
and I dream of snow eventually.
The park is saturated with crisp light,
I recall my birth on a frigid day;
it had snowed all through the cold winter night,
now, it is lovely as the squirrels play.
Oh sweet Christmas memories fill my head,
the decorated tree and all the food;
and the morning when we all jumped from bed,
I am wrapped in a cloak of thoughts subdued.
I want tart apple pie and pumpkin pie;
above me the Canadian geese fly.
