Would You Still Love Me

Would you still love me? If I told you I have no formal education? And I don't know how to read? Or never held a job in my life? Would you still love me? If I told you I was groomed to hate people like you? And part of an organi- zation that killed your race on sight? Would still love me? If I told you I was in love with another man? And the reason I’m with you is I'm pregnant, and we both need a home. Would you still love me? If I told you I slept with strangers for food? And that I could possibly be infected with that deadly virus that has no cure? 12-12-18 Inspired by the “ Would You Still Love Me Contest”

Hi Alexis, well, this is a powerful write indeed. I love the content. I am with Andrea on the one I would have a problem with, a person in an organisation to kill a race on sight. I know love is blind. That would be a hard one to put aside, even for me. An excellent write Alexis. Have a wonderful Christmas series. Hugs....Mike. XX

boy this one really makes a person think. To be a model of "christlike love" requires we love people despite all conditions. the one I would have the problem with would be a person in an organization to kill others of my kind. Though we could try to change them with love, it would be difficult to just stand there if they attacked to kill you!

Alexis, you bring up some important questions in your poem, if the love is strong it can survive anything, even all that, because every person has done something in their past that they regret and haunts them, but it should not define them in the present or future, well done ~

Wow, some difficult questions enough to give any potential suitor pause! But love is blind and to many it would not matter. A great entry Alexis. Best wishes for a contest win! : )

You know, in reality I think if one loves another it is regardless of ANYTHING, but for the contest I, too, will come up with a list. I sure enjoyed yours - you laid some heavy and controversial items on 'the one' you are questioning and I enjoyed the dramatic read. Good luck in the contest and all else, Sweetheart. Poetry hugs ... Love is a puzzle of which an important part is admiration! When we find something to admire in a person then we found a reason to love him/her! Here that part is honesty! Hope is just a fiction dearest, Alexis! If not then our Lord who works in mysterious ways will find someone to love you! Well done dearest! xxx

Thought provoking questions, Alexis, if he truly loved you, he would still love you even if you are with someone else or had an incurable disease though I think the love would wane over time. John
