Woman Looking In the Mirror Edvard Munch 1892

(select all), (delete) that's sometimes the feeling of a reflection the notion of who you are brought into chaos or calm is that me looking back? sometimes it is and I'm present enough to linger with myself when the light hits right like the painter was found and captures you after all just when you thought you were lost sometimes I'm not there and some cobbled together representation gazes at me so empty of the essence of who I am it causes offence the magic of when eye meets eye and souls intermingle that is often reserved only for those we love they appear as light their presence between the mirror and I and just for one moment that harsh self view evaporates to reveal the view of a kindred soul gifted so generously that little bursts of love populate the universe bouncing around to send a cosmic thank you across invisible realms glimmers, the opposite of triggers the gift of beauty from one soul to another of course I'll linger by the mirror not in vanity but in gratitude for the relief of loving oneself even for a second heals the soul so when the light bounces just right know it's the good vibes from kindred souls gifting love from afar or from the past light and love are complex things intangible yet enveloping to gaze beyond a mirror and feel from a dream of a memory you are perfectly held in love knowing you will be once again Brian Strand Premiere 1st Place

It's one of my favourites - it was like lots of emotions suddenly found their way out they I'd not expressed before - quite cathartic x

This is one of your best DD....have savoured it many times. The poem jumps off the page when spoken and is emotionally charged writing at its best.

Thank you Paul, I'll confess I wrote it in about 15 minutes if that but just hooked in to a feeling that flew on to the page. I think my edit was deleting 4 unnecessary lines. I am pleased with how this one did as it's something I've wanted to convey before as it's painful for this kind of feeling to be mistook for vanity or conceit when it's ever so fleeting self love and should be quite precious. I appreciate you sharing your thoughts, highly valued and treasured.

Wow that is certainly one hell of a view on true reality, yet one I can fully relate to Dilly, I believe light and love are intangibly linked as a force throughout spacetime, A complex poem of perhaps self realisation and being at one with the cosmos and creation, bet you’re glad you didn’t have to sing this one in the mirror, brilliant cheers David
