Dreams Fade
You found your dream love
as a naive youth.
And asked God above,
to confirm its truth.
Yet that dream would fade
as the years slipped by.
But those feelings stayed
and still make you cry.
Breakups hurt too much,
morphing into tears.
And you crave love's touch,
alone with your fears.
Unable to cope,
tears douse passion's flame.
And imprison hope,
deflecting the blame.
Once doubt dims your light,
love cannot find you.
And strays far from sight
when you're feeling blue.
Don't dismiss dead dreams;
their magic isn't through.
Despite what it seems,
they may yet come true.
