Wish I Were
Wish I were boldly graceful
like a dancer on a stage.
To tell the truth, I'm fearful
merely to walk, at my age.
Wish then that I were perfect
but I'd be thinking again
Would my ego be subject
to raw boasting? and so then...
Wish I were pure like a child
free of pride, envy and fear.
Just now I believe God smiled,
"You are MY child," did I hear?
Wisdom is what I'll pray for
to make HIS glory greater...
guidance from my Creator
grant my wish to walk straighter.
