Winter's Blanket
The snow is falling, the harsh wind blowing
The fire is burning, peacefulness growing.
Peering out at the swirling flakes of snow
Winters blanket is falling tonight we know
Nose pressed against the cold clean glass
The drifts building and covering the grass.
Windows mist as warmth meets cold
Snuggling in, waiting for you to hold
The blanket of snow rises flake by flake
A world quilted in snow for when we awake.
Warm and comfortable as the north wind blew
The only blanket I need to cover me- is you.
Wrapped in your arms, held safe and tight
Keeping me warm throughout the night.
Praying the world’s snow blanket grows deep
So you can stay warm in my arms in sleep.
