Winter Wish Away From Strife
There was a man that wished to be a snowman.
Winter came in with the impatient wind,
approaching in by its downy grace; the man
in the midst of it all, the snow read his mind.
Excitedly, seized by the magic of nature,
the crystalline snow envelops him up in snow gear:
a carrot for a nose, corncob for a pipe; a perfect picture.
Charcoal for eyes and a smile, two lilies for ears,
and sticks for arms from the nearest tree.
The wind snatched a hat and placed it on its head,
a scarf and wrapped it around its neck;
great feature a work of art that stole its heart.
Rapture was he, until the clouds open wide,
and the sun snuck through,
he melted back to the man he was
a life of strife and struggles.
