Winter Still

Flakes sparkle, a golden sun emerges; shadows chase children 'round forts of snow. The groundhog appears holding his scepter. "Don't store away those sleds just yet"; warm jackets will reign for six more weeks. Snow plays its card – spades high. written February 11, 2013

thank you, Shambhavi. It's great to get a positive comment on an older, seemingly forgotten poem of the past. It's a shame that so many contest hosts want NEW poems. What's wrong with a pre-written piece once in a while.
