I watched the icicles grow, curve and shine Clarity came with their design They pointed sharply downward They dripped their own tears Formations reflected aspects of life The hardships and the stunning light Frozen emotions melted slowly in the sun A winter creation, to make me wonder Some things are clear and disappear Visions of things last when they are gone Winter can teach us so many things To welcome in the burst of cold it brings Heidi Sands 1/26/23 Placed 3rd in the You Decide Poetry Contest. Heidi, this is a poetic gem! I love the metaphorical icicles and your wonderful imagery - so inventive and creative! I will never look at icicles in the same way again! Congratulations! Blessings! This is a fav for me.

Well, the beauty of winter is a beauty all its own, but the bad that it brings is really, really bad. We have not had icicles here in many years, but I can remember when we did. Of course, they did not get really long as best I can remember. This one reads like a good contender to me for Brian's contest. Thanks for sharing and for dropping by. Sara
