Winter Does Not Endear Me
I shiver in the bitter cold
wishing winter were well over.
The northern wind, ever bold,
makes us all run for cover.
Forgotten now the summer sun
we took for granted months ago.
Forgotten now the summer fun.
The landscape here, now only snow.
Eagerly I await the spring
when earth renews and warms again.
While winter has her frigid fling,
her gift of carpet, white, she's lain.
I shiver in this bitter cold
wishing winter gone from here.
Her snowy world, lovely to behold,
is not a season that endears.
