Winter Cries
When spring arrives quickly, winter cries
The snow melts, flowing down the streets
Filling the brooks where gurgling waterfalls sing
From the banks while birds in the trees are watching
The tear dampened ground holds the tears
Like a friend, holding out their open hands
To catch your emotions at just the right time
As they spill into bright new beginnings
Last bits of winter are left behind, stranded
In patches of snow on wet flattened grass
The sunshine beats down, warmth, rejuvenation
As remnants melt into the hours of winter’s goodbye
