~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ let me pause slow down a minute and look inward to adjust my lens there’s more to life than operating in react mode let me pause to ask the real question the why is so much more revealing than the what let me break the cycle and if need be, like a rookie put training wheels back on my bicycle refuse to live in auto pilot
First reactions to any scenario are not always the best ones to offer, but patience to do so is something we cannot often control or even consider. Human flaws don't allow us to take a breath before we plunge in head first. Considering this one to be forthright and useful to ask, 'Why?"
I agree with your insightful words, Lin. How often (especially when younger) I had a 'knee jerk' reaction. There's something to be said for pausing and taking a deep breath before reacting. Wishing you a pleasant evening, hugs, Sara
Dear Sara, Providing children with honest answers when they inquire about things is the best way to witness their growth firsthand. If no one ever questions the reasons behind their actions, they will continue to live in a state of everlasting autonomously—a thought-provoking piece.
I agree with you and your wise words. Providing children with honest answers gives them a sense of trust and strength. I also agree that questioning one's actions is paramount to achieving autonomy. Well said. Thanks for stopping by, your poetess friend in Texas, Sara
When children ask the question why, tell them the truth, no lies, see them blossom before your eyes. When no one answers the question why ever, then it’s living on auto pilot for them forever. A thought provoking write Sara… Beryl
I agree with your insightful and wise words, dear Pangie. Truly life is admitting that we don't (and can't) know it all and learning from our mistakes and those of others. Appreciate your visit! enjoy your day, hugs, Sara
Indeed -- throw off the brainwashing -- from early on too many of us are tutored by well meaning parents to be overly cautious, with an abundance of self doubt -- trained to look to adult authority for accepted path and approval. Instead, make yourself a drum, and train its skin to respond to your beat alone~ no other. I only sought adult cooperation when I needed the car keys. Excellent write. Lots of good advice.
thanks for visiting, Joe, and for your insightful words. I agree...too much brainwashing even for adults who can be easily propagandized and manipulated. I like 'make yourself a drum...respond to your beat alone.' Powerful words. Thanks for sharing today, have a splendid day, Sara
