"gloves of nature's bliss lace leaves dance
as butterflies parchment papers preen " Haiku quote
by _ Chantelle Anne Cooke
have always thought of myself as a butterfly ...
part of my life ... in a silky cocoon
I thought the world to cruel to endure
but one day I peaked out
it was beautiful
so I emerged
~ as a multi purple painted butterfly and fluttered away
I loved the freedom to sail with the wind
and the sweet nectar was divine ~
but sometimes the battle of life left my wings broken
I existed but it was not easy to fly
often, I would rest on a flower pondering
I saw beauty everywhere and with courage fluttered away
on my broken wings
~ but of course, I am not a real butterfly
just a real girl with broken wings
but with faith, courage and prayers I can soar ~
I pick up my pen and on parchment I write
of all the wonderful things in this world of ours
I see hummingbirds spin and butterflies flutter
and death and sadness that needs expression
I ponder the birds that I meet
and wish I could fly with them ... that would be nice
now, my wings have healed and "bliss" is mine
