Where Does Poetry Begin

Where does poetry begin? I know it comes from the heart-- but where is that initial start, that elusive center, the dwelling of the Muse where words into expression first think before depart: Some say it is an unconscious center, simply science no thoughtful Muse; where kinds proliferate their cells no magic no mystical spells by what means thrive the chemicals no one tells (such academic nonsense still really sells) while others say a spiritual center where a Gatekeeper plays till the verse swells and bursts from out this creative part all God’s blessings and all the Devil’s hells-- while I just dutifully write-- my replying to both dark and Light….

Creative work. I am sure that it has to come from a higher power to whichever voice we listen. I know that it is not really me. Thanks for dropping by. Sara

Not really you? I like to think, an extended you, the flesh and spirit of a Truly Divine Creator. Thank you so much, Sara. Blessings my friend.

For sure, Connie; without the Love-ingredient, all, no matter what the subject, is lukewarm and tasteless.

Well, I would say poetry begins with the eyes, then the mind takes over and the heart feels a form of release and the soul gives a sigh... Loved your poem Joe..
