When depression deepens within my soul,
life's fabric unravels at its edges.
And a part of me is ripped from the whole;
I'm not brave, as my ego alleges.
I've felt the despair of a lonely heart;
atrophied within a bubble of hope.
And yet, I still resist pressing restart,
even though; it is a struggle to cope.
I stock the fringes of fantasy dreams;
armed with Cupid's bow, I aim toward love.
And deaf to reality's silent screams;
I let blind faith steer a course from above.
I harbor doubts love will ever find me,
and sometimes, I wish I had wings to flee.
