When Darkness Falls
When darkness falls upon the haunts of night
and creatures big and small forget the slightest slight
betwixt the moon and shadows of the eve,
I'm too am rendered nil
by infamy of secrets never told
inside this earth base hide away
of grass and moist;
This forest deep and rich is ready for
the plucky feet of brave
Oh hear, the animaliing sound of all mankind
inside this cavern of reveberating Simba roars
is the scent of musk and memory
abiding still;
Despite the darkness
of the night,
the stars insist,
on all that light.
