I’m fortunate to be married to the master hugger, fellow poet Bill Baker. He’s a loving, compassionate man who hugged me almost non-stop for months as I healed from rotator cuff surgery and coped with the painful post-surgery physical therapy. He never tired of my moods, my discomfort, and my fear that I may never be normal again. His hugs are amazing! PS Today, October 10th, is the anniversary of our first date.
When the right person hugs you, it's like medicine for the soul, a healing balm of hope and love.
hug me till I feel okay
hug me till the pain goes away
hug me, tell me everything will be okay
hug me, let me tell you my fears
hug me, wipe away my tears
hug me, tell me about our yesteryears
hug me till I feel secure
hug me so life I can endure
hug me till this emptiness is cured
hug me till I feel safe again
hug me, take me to a higher plane
where love, peace, hope, and eternity reign
