What Little Remains
I finally found the love
I had been searching
my entire life for,
and as I
look at the clock,
the minutes ticking away,
a second hand taunting me,
hours making faces
watching my life fading
day by day
My old heart breaks
because I know
I will die lonely
wondering why
I didn’t find her sooner
and why
I can’t have her
now that I have
for what little remains…
of me
