What Happens To a Peanut When Its Not Found

We throw out peanuts All through the winter Squirrels gobble it up Eating up the nuts When it is stormy outside More nuts are tossed out Filling their empty stomachs All through the winter months So what happens to the peanut When it is not found? Does the peanut root? Into the ground? Does it grow into a tall tree? To bud peanuts on a bush? Or is it a bushy bush grown? Growing peanuts on a bush? What happens to a peanut When it is not found? I doubt I'll never know It is a mystery to me

I once heard a poet say that the role of poets is to make sure that people don't forget to pay attention to the little things. This is exactly what he meant. What a great poem on one of life's little mysteries.

I love your ability to think of something that would otherwise pass anyone else's mind, but; once a peanut is thrown it is never wasted, though George Bush might want his share of the profits if it ever grew into a peanut plant I am sure . . . : )

Hello Indian Shaw, thank you Indian Shaw,If the peanut grew into a bush George Bush would have his supply of peanuts,he would be sharing them with the squirrels. Enjoy your day my friend.

Hello Darlene … a peanut is also called a ground nut so I guess it's a small bush that sends shoots underground - interesting question Darlene - Lindsay

With luck it's found and made into butter or maybe it was in the pile of sunflower seeds the chipmunks stole from my bird feeder bins and hid in the corner of our garage. Thanks for the fun meander.

Nothing can be lost. If not eaten, might be rotten or to yield seedling. It's very easy to grow peanuts either in pot or in garden. Best wishes for peanuts and you.

I think they may have some underground party going on; I can't be certain about that but, sometimes I get a strong whiff of peanut butter and think I hear music. Nah, it's my imagination...isn't it? Enjoyed.

A poem that gets the readers thinking about what is written and looking at it from more than one angle lets it stand out. Poetry is now more important than ever before in a world that has trouble digesting information and slowing the thought process enough to give some sort of meaning to life. Glad you are still posting. Regards David

Peanuts grow beneath the ground like potatoes Darlene. They are actually a legume not a nut. I eat a lot of peanut butter. I have never grown my own. I know how much squirrels love them. I enjoyed your cute poem Darlene. Easter blessings xxoo

Not everything squirrels hide are later found. Whether they grow again or not I don't know. Peanuts are legumes, they don't grow on trees as do most other nuts. / M

You propose a profound question, Darlene! I enjoyed your very witty write. I used to feed peanuts in the shell to squirrels here in Colorado - they would bury them and later they would sprout & produce nuts! Thanks for commenting on my No Haircuts write. Obviously you ladies are facing the same problems we guys are with no hair stylists available. Hunker down and take good care - Bob
