What a Waste (Tribute To Janice Joplin's Bobby Mcgee)

Some songs make their impressions Lasting forever in our minds They may fade or not mean as much As our soul society blinds They tell us what they want us to hear Trying so hard to keep us blind But through the Songs Janice used to sing We were some how able to find How would you love to be Bobby McGee? Or the trucker far as goes I’m sure they had a hell of a trip Writing the song that all of us know Addiction took her from us one day In fact it has taken a few So before you fly know that it’s no lie Like Janice it will take you to -------------------------------- I think I got way off track here but this for Brian's contest and it is one of the impressions in my mind that will forever stay. I loved her music, God Bless

Exceptional Quatrain Michael, all my poems are written listening to music. If i start to write one at work, i hum a tune in my head, then start writing when i get home and listen to the tune i was humming. I go straight back into the write. I can write a soft nature poem listening to AC/DC, Sabbath, purple etc > then reverse the role. As John Miles sang, Music is my first love, and it will be my last > music of the future, and music of the past. Awesome lyrics > The Highlander >> James

Kristofferson wrote Me And Bobie McGee. My favorite of hers was Piece of My Heart. Great performer with a great future done in by her addictions. Had she had a friend like you, she might have been around today. God Bless. To answer your question, the Storm was imagination. Dorothy was a true story. So was Portsmouth (Virginia). Vince

Life on the road with Janice, Bobby (and the trucker) sounds so appealing when we listen to this old tune, Michael. (Can't tell you how many times I took this imaginary journey in my brain, humming the beat while the windshield wipers were slapping time.) One of my favorite songs of all times and you did an excellent tribute. Hats off to you, MJ! Love, Carolyn
