Welcome, Fall
A few weeks more, and it will be autumn
Even now the kids are back in school.
Though late summer days still may simmer,
those days grow shorter and the nights grow cool.
Get out warmer clothes, jackets and the sweaters.
For those with trees, have rakes at the ready,
but before their beautiful leaves fall,
their many splendid colors have me heady.
The flocks of certain birds will fly far south.
Big, round pumpkins will adorn the fields.
Most gleeful of our holidays will soon be here.
Welcome, Fall, and thank you for the farmers’ yields.
