Weeping Nude by Edvard Munch 1913/1914

Her heart is heavy with despair, her soul abandoned Unruly tangled locks modestly shroud her face and flesh, Yet her naked rawness, a voyeur’s ideal conception Yielding to a drab empty room mirroring a bereft mood Bedding ladened with dead weight heavily sinking A young woman in grave distress shedding copious tears A bohemian girl sequestered, hiding, drowning in sorrows Her flowing streams fall warm, healing and abiding

Excellent meshing of picture + words. Munch's paintings truly capture human angst + agony . The image fits your words like a fussy someone attending to their attire. Be well. Brian

Munch was a master at painting sorrow and angst. You can't t see her face, but the whole tone is overwhelming melancholy, even despair. Your words are raw and true. Well done.

Wonderful Ekphrasis. Your poem depicts the melancholic mood of the painting in its entire gravity."Unruly tangled locks modestly shroud her face and flesh". Love this line. All the Best, dear Anaya! Only with the painting one can enjoy the poem fully as you have done.

Thank you, Belle! I took to this piece of art, his style [Munch] is two-dimensional. There is a self-portrait of him with brushes, Belle he is quite a handsome fellow. :)

Thank you, Victor! I put a lot of effort into this piece. It was a condensed course of what the artist may have been thinking about the model used and some more study on Munch's style of art, two-dimensional.
