Weave

A spider carefully plans and schemes the pattern for its life and quest. It spends its hours weaving dreams until it creates its sticky best. Its web is tatted small and refined or brocaded in heavy tapestry. Soon prey finds itself entwined, entombed within this basketry. The spider calmly enswathes it, a gesture quick yet fatal. To paralyze this tasty tidbit, its single bite is detrimental. To live, to spin, to weave, to eat, is spider’s deadly task’s cycle. Web mastery, a cunning feat, ensures the spider’s survival.

A little grim but so well done Linda! Nice rhymes. Truly the spiderweb is a work of art and source of life for the spider! Wonderful metaphoric poem. Much to learn from spiders! Blessings! Congratulations!

Yes, those webs are spun to catch their prey and some spiders eat big items. I am glad that none of those live around here. Thanks for sharing this winner. Way to go. Congratulations. Sara

I chose the same word, Linda, yours is well woven about the spider... :) me and spiders have a long standing enmity, though I admit, it's fascinating to watch them weave their web:)

Awesome poetry! Silky smooth, you are so talented Linda. Cobweb made of silk, a natural fiber covered with a sticky layer of protein, fatty acids, salts, and organic molecules. They make bridal veils from spider silk! Agatha Christies “Spider Web” oh and, Spiderman would be proud of you! BFW [best for win]

Hi my friend! Good to see you here! You make me blush Anaya. Yes, spider's silk is used for many things. It's talked about, written about, harvested, and, and, and. Spiderman can visit me any day ;)

That's what I thought, but I had women leave my house when they found out I fed the little guy. The men didn't seem to care - they thought it was normal. LOL

I love the little guys too. I had one on an indoor plant that I used to catch grasshoppers for. I'd put the grasshoppers in its web so it would have enough to eat. LOL Does that make me a bad person?
