We Gather

We gather
    thirsty, weary
like a flock of birds after a long flight
ready to drink Holy Spirit revival.

The congregation
    children of God
the bride of Christ, His beloved
sing praises to the risen King
voices lift like the rising sun.

Holy Word of God
burns like fire within the soul
          convicts hearts to follow Him
     sin’s deadly stains washed away
cleansed by the Redeemer’s blood.

A moving devotional free verse poem, shaped by its cascading indentation into a visual gathering: people drawn inward, upward, and toward renewal. The biblical images—thirst, the bride of Christ, refining fire, and cleansing blood—build naturally from communal worship to personal conviction, while the rising-sun comparison gives the praise a warm, hopeful lift. Congratulations on POTD 🌹
