Watching the World Go By - Owl Contest
It’s cosy here in the corner of the barn
On hand many mice to eat
Come dawn I open both eyes
Stretch my wing feathers
Flutter a bit
Then gracefully fly through the gap
Left in side of door by caring farmer
That’s my perch
Up there in that tree
I watch the world go by
One eye closed but very aware
Another day, another lazyyyyyyy day
They call me a wise old owl
All seeing, true,
yet observations not requested.
So I sit back and wait
Life is so tiring,
maybe time to close other eye as well.
