Watching My Love Sleep

She lies there dreaming so peacefully; Perfection, surrounded by snow white sheets. The rhythm of her breath, my heart beats, Aroused with love’s passion enslaving me. Supple curves define her femininity; For her love, my soul constantly weeps, In my heart, her memory I’ll always keep, Entangled forever with this affinity. I’ll let her rest, untouched for now Although, I’d rather she be embraced. Faithful love from me is a solemn vow; Whispers of kisses left on her face. When she wakes, my longing I’ll allow And between us, remove all this space.

wow, your sonnet, for me, comes closest to emulating a type of sonnet like Shakepeare would have written for his love. Just wonderful, Joe. Congratulations on your win. Andrea
