Waiting In the Rain

Days should be warm in the middle of June. The rain clouds obscure the bright skies every day. My roses are bedraggled as the cold wind blows them over. I'm still waiting for the sun to shine. I fear it's taking a spring vacation. Placed first For Andrea's Etheree contest

Congratulations, Joyce, YOu are my NUMERO UNO in the Etheree contest. I really related to this one and it is actually the type of etheree I would have composed myself for this nasty June we had (until it just barely became warm here) Luv, Andrea. ps. Great imagery, Joyce. You must live up North. It's been hot hear and one of my rose bushes has 14 buds on it. Some recent, heavy rains, however, "bedraggled" and killed some of my coleus. The "spring vacation" will end soon enough and then we'll all be bemoaning the summer heat. Enjoyed your etheree! Best wishes in Andrea's fun contest. I enjoyed trying this form too. Love, Carolyn

Great Etheree, Joyce. Such a challenging form but you penned an amazing poem fitting the required structure. Nice job. Joe
