Waiting For Rain To Stop
WAITING FOR RAIN TO STOP
Down the misted glass door
Droplets patter erratically
Approaching the bottom of the pane
With arthritic pain as their path
Hesitates or stops at spots
Of dirt or dust
In the dusk of an autumn
Monday, solemn with gloom
As I wait for the pattern
On the glass to cease
Moving, and the sound
Tick, tick, from the
Tiny strikes of drops
To stop, and only the
Wind to sing along the
Wetted pane turning dry.
