Such a spiteful petulant bloated fake
Waterways’ names aren’t for you to take
With hubris your guide
Set your golf clubs aside
And go jump in your rechristened lake!

I don't understand why the government focuses on anything that is already in focus, not bothering any one or thing but existing as a 'familiar' people know. If it isn't broken ... Congrats on POTD. Limericks aren't easy for me, so I appreciate how smooth yours is.

This is a beautifully sharp piece of political satire. The limerick form is perfectly executed, using its traditionally light rhythm to deliver a biting, aggressive critique. The juxtaposition between the grand title and the stinging imagery of "golf clubs" and "hubris" creates a wonderful, high-energy contrast that makes the humor land with maximum impact. ...International bodies foreign nations are not bound by the order & largely retain the historical name.. THANK GOD! Lake Ontario means beautiful lake Indigenous languages centuries ago, I read the renaming only applies to U.S. federal entities & domestic pamphlets & things like that hahaha 🫸♚🫷 No Kings!

😍Congratulations!!! Poem Of The Day is showing us what's currently eventful , so timely. Such a 😂limerick, choosing words well thought out & clever as always, especially hubris great word choice, as this is a classic tragedy, he is overstepping human limits to act like a god, just like its definition which always brought the wrath of the gods a fatal punishment ha ha ha🏴‍☠️
