Violin
“If I were not a physicist, I would probably be a musician. I often think in music. I live my daydreams in music. I see my life in terms of music. I get most joy in life out of my violin”. (By Albert Einstein)
Eminent scientist works day and night…
to figure out important solutions,
alone, immersed in countless hours of research,
no one to take care of his needs,
his deteriorating health.
The passionate scientist doesn’t care when and what to eat,
stays awake for agonising hours and hours,
until sleep dawns on his fatigued much-deprived body.
finally exhausted, but
almost reaching the solution…
a very significant one among
the myriad of mysteries of mathematical world,
With his mind excited hoping a great outcome
for human civilization...
He picks up his violin,
the source of ultimate joy and celebration for him,
and starts playing a soulful song,
every string plucked, bleeds the pain and loneliness
of a broken heart!
even if it is middle of the night,
even if he is immensely tired, and drained!
The only thing which brings him peace,
is the musical instrument,
a gift from his musician mother!
He grabs the violin,
out under the cobalt starlit sky,
His deft fingers move gracefully on the strings,
a song, so poignant…
bringing memories from the past...
his wife, who passed away from an incurable disease years ago,
her charming blue eyes and captivating smile never forgotten,
a son, who lives far away,
childhood friends, who do not live close by any more!
The Scientist forgets the world of science..
Violin is his only friend!
Stars are the audience !
