Valhalla's Hall Holds His Forgiven Heart

Valhalla's Hall Holds His Forgiven Heart Fallen warrior, his dreams exist no more just a lone grave in a circle of trees Great victories, only he kept the score better had life given him calmer seas. Across the field shields lay broken and stained remnants of big clashes harder than stones Old relics and tales all that remained his grave now empty, war dogs stole his bones. Night-winds blow on his lonely resting place fate's reward for heart fallen and so true His life, a savage trek with no disgrace paradise found, even if overdue. Death is but a storm that has blown apart. Valhalla's hall holds his forgiven heart. Robert J. Lindley, 10-27-2016 Sonnet

This is really good Robert, if I were you, I'd enter it into the English sonnet contest. But why have you dated it 12-27-16? Are we in December and no one told me Christmas is over already! Haha. Brilliant sonnet my friend. I'm into the Old Norse mythology too.

Sorry, the wrong date is a typo. Will correct the date. Thanks. I started this poem , the title and first stanza back in 1983. Came back to finish it 10-27-2016. As they say, better late than never.. lol
