~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ It's been a while since I saw stars at night. All the city lights...blind the sky. It's been a while since the moon was so bright. Tonight, I just want to dance beneath this light. Was the wind always this calm? Well...this breeze surely knows how to charm. But why do I keep singing sorrow? Saying, "I may not see tomorrow. Might even leave this life we borrow." The stars say, "What do you fear? Is it death, or the burden that you bear?" "I fear to be forgotten," I said, "I fear becoming just a memory... left behind." "You're unaware of your destiny. That is what you seek," Said the North Star. "You fear to be forgotten. That fear doesn't let you sleep." Moon sang from afar. It is the path you follow, That will lead you to your destiny. You will know what you seek one day, That day awaits you, just as you do. Learn to live the gift given to you. It is called the present. All your doubts will fade away, And you will love this life one day. Astonished and silent I stayed. Suddenly... no questions remained, But one, just one question I shall ask... Were they always this beautiful? Makes me wonder if this is what they call heaven. I just wish the sun was late to rise. Because these stars define paradise.
awww, thank you, Deb, for your enthusiastic and kind comments. I agree...nothing quite like a clear, starry night--helps me appreciate the bigness and the vastness of the universe. Have a splendid day, hugs, Sara
I feel like an eavesdropper, listening to the conversation, but what a novel idea. When I lived in Colorado, I was always in awe of the number of stars that were visible. City living steals that view from us. Great verses, Sara.
Thanks for eavesdropping, Lin. Gosh, I remember visiting Colorado and seeing those magnificent mountains and the sky bursting with stars -- ones not visible in cities. We live on the edge of a semi-rural town; we can see more stars here than we can in Dallas. Whenever I'm troubled, I step out onto our patio taking in the view to calm myself and to gain perspective. Appreciate your visit; have a lovely evening, hugs, Sara
