flowers crush under their own weight - it's how the end slides in widened perspectives tell us more of the same deep thinking root claustrophobia as the treetop remains out of sight we are not the centre - we just have tunnel vision always seeing too much or too little to make sense as we dress for the occasion of our overwhelming insignificance placed on our side we are just the rungs of the ladder eyes low for happiness, some still travel face up

Love this, Dilly Dally. And it's right to the point.

A beautiful poem to a beautiful painting. I think it will sell. I enjoy how you used the poem to highlight the minutia in the painting, as was done with emphasis on the faces. I also like the subtle colors in the painting.

It's good to miss the big picture and check out a detail. Keeps the mind busy. I'd probably happily own this one but for the cost and the unsettling nature of the figures. It has plenty of stop and stare about it. Thanks for calling in.

The two look back to back and the flowers do seem heavy, weighted "its how the end slides in" leaves it to the readers own interpretation, perspective-- no tops is that why it's called undergrowth, I wonder. I'll have a look at it..although I think the title is ugly like a disease, your poetry is quite the opposite! See it as #1 in someone's contest. :)

Thank you Anaya, I saw the flowers as heavy minds nearing the end. There would be no undergrowth if there wasn't tree tops, but still they remain out of sight - just like the answers to everything - we're just lost in the questions. The title tells us nothing - quite befitting, it's like an absence of echo, flat. Thank you for taking so much time over the words and image. Appreciated.

VERY, introspective perspective - love how you leave so much thought to be discovered by the reader (even yourself perhaps)...that is the essence of writing, especially poetry--and Van Gogh, Picasso, Dali et al---exemplified that in their paintings -- not answers, but questions! Yes, inspirational...

Thank you Craig, I wrote so quickly and didn't have time to circle back. The questions do seem quite relative in many ways, no definite truth for anyone. Good to hear they inspire and create deeper thought into the painting. I find this one particularly interesting. I appreciate your ongoing support and belief in me..

Ah another one of your deeply meaningful poems that conveys so much dear dd, i really love how your lines just flow from one to another and also i agree with everything youv stated here especially “ always seeing too much or too little to make sense” so true! Couldnt have said it any better! Im inspired reading this! To write! “ placed on our side we are just the rungs of the ladder eyes low for happiness, some still travel face up” the ending! This is truly soul hitting for me! The depth and the softness of your voice in this, despite how powerful what youv delivered here is! Pleasure reading you today, sending you light always

Ahh a bit of a response to the figures merging into the background and being diminished by the scale.. plus a bit of existential anxiety for good measure. Hope that's a good wow rather than a shocked one?

Perspective personified here Dilly, almost the opposite of Schrödinger's cat, you wrote this one from inside of the box, reminding us of the unseen treetops (deep thinking root claustrophobia) Brilliant! the flowers being crushed under their own weight is thought provoking, what does it all mean? Ah yes perspective of those two figures you give meaning to, another top example, the power of your Ekphrasis is mind boggling, cheers David

It's almost a dance of never facing each other but seeming perfectly arm in arm - haunting! (reminiscent of a jig but not)

On closer inspection it’s impossible to know whether they are coming or going, I’m pretty sure Van Gogh did this on purpose, maybe they are just passing by each other in different directions? well if anyone can get more out of this painting it will be you, but it is already a fine stand alone piece!

This was painted in the month before he died and on the panoramic (rather than landscape). I was also intrigued on how they seem to be walking towards and away at the same time (my line about that I cut because it sounded a bit euphemistic and I had to go out). I'd love to smooth this one out but it's choppy right now. Maybe I'll monoku it?! I rotated the image and it's so different from other perspectives - there's definitely more in here to draw out. He wrote about it to his brother too. I'm not great at returning to finish poems but I might give this a go. Thanks for your insightful comment, keeps me thinking :)
