Listen to poem:
So little is on the ground It's desolate, or so it feels As I'm trying hard to get away I don't see the blades of grass Or feel the coolness on my bare feet I want to climb to freedom But if I stop and think about the moon It just leaves me cold Surely nothing can compare With this patch of green? But it's so hazy, I've mistook the ocean For the land, the sky for salvation I've a choice of ladders to cling to Whilst I get my bearings Leading nowhere And there's nothing safe No matter what rung, I'm stranded It's been night-time for years But there's a soft glow Some kind of lull or lulling I'm not sending out an SOS It's a gentle night I'll wait Just until I get my bearings

Gently spoken, loudly mused. Your signature SOS, viridescent oceans and a cold moon. I am sure you did this artist before "The Stroll" I tink. :)

A very moving poem DD, quite haunting in keeping with the mood of the painting. Ushers you in but you're not quite sure where you are, leaves the mind in a landscape of the unresolved. You have a skill in making artworks speak, commandeering them to echo your own voice. Speaking of your voice...such a beautiful reading, delivered in full with this one. Take care...

This one kind of feels like my muse at the moment Dilly, pretty bleak and not offering much but foreboding ladders to unreachable places, not an SOS rather a need to wait it out til inspiration returns, yep it’s all about finding one’s bearings, beautifully penned, cheers David

Thank you David, your muse never deserts you for long. I'm sure it's powering up in the background. Thank you for your comment, appreciated
