Notes About The Poem

I wake up everyday on a tropical island however some parts of this is written to fit the theme: but the emotions expressed within is not fiction. For the contest sponsored by Anoucheka G.

Tropical Topaz Tranquility

I woke up to the soft
marigold melodies
of whistling waves,
reverberating in
turquoise tunes,
stirring the sleeping
sunrise within my soul,
while the hermit crabs,
soaked in salty sand,
creep along the ivory
shores at a slow pace,
too eager to find a
faulty ray from my
honeyed horizon.
Yet I refused to allow
the crawling crustaceans
to obscure the serene scenes
unfolding in shades
of teal zeal beneath
azure spheres,
for I am the
metaphorical mermaid,
weaving aquatic anthems,
awaiting the crystalline
calling from the warm
arms of an oceanic heart.

I remember walking
on colorful clouds,
tiptoeing my way to
the psychedelic gates
of seraphic realms,
oblivious to the
hibiscus haven thriving
in tropical fruitfulness.
Perhaps the flavors
of twilight cocktails
were blended with
trippy ingredients,
untying ribboned skies
to unveil a
kaleidoscopic staircase
to untouched bliss,
where no breathing
footprints can blemish
the pearlescent purity
of an exotic paradise.

There, in the rhyme-less
roots of palm trees,
you’ll find my inked dreams,
kissing the cinnamon sun,
unfurling herbs of
seasoned sanguinity,
a singing siesta
soothing ruffled crests
rippling with topaz tranquility
along celestial currents.

This is me turning perfumed
pages of my grounded reality;
a picturesque painting
sketched in the
amethyst arena of
my sixth chakra,
and I will forever remain
in this island of romanticism,
collecting conch shells,
writing poetry with
evergreen stems,
and floating weed,
a lyrical hideaway,
without scarred flowers
envious of the sapphires
I knit in ceremonial silence.

If tomorrow, there is
no sailing catamaran
to steer your lusterless shadows,
here upon porcelain dunes,
forgive my need to
strive in sweet seclusion,
I am no longer strayed
on ruthless routes that
lack emerald empathy
and camellia compassion.

Oh, you're getting all the nice views, Dearest Inky. You sail with nature and they sing back to you. I could feel the depth and sincerity of the piece and also the security and courage the environment gives you. "and I will forever remain on this island of romanticism, collecting conch shells, writing poetry with evergreen stems." You definitely have to keep your bright, your happiness and stay where brings out the best in you. That way we get to share in the rawness of your creativity.

As a denizen of Maldives kissed and lulled to sleep by the waves of the Arabian sea, I have no wonder how you pride over the scenic beauty of your land and long to be sequestered in the tranquility of that idyllic shores where palm fronds sway and hermit crabs creep along the ivory sands. A visit to this land is in our bucket list. Like a mermaid, I am sure, you don't wish to leave those teal waters and "will forever remain in this island of romanticism, collecting conch shells, writing poetry with evergreen stems, and floating weed, a lyrical hideaway" Wow.... so sweet ! I fall in love with your poetry, dear Empress. This another of my favorites!

IE, I like how you end with the fact that you are no longer strayed on "ruthless routes." This is a great pun considering you begin composing in the "rhyme-less roots" of palm trees (the essence of an island state), and you perform your style of magic to take what you experience and turn it into beautiful poetry. We have a term for what most of us deal with...the "rat race" (lol). Your poetry and thought takes us to a wonderful place. Fortunately, some of us can carve out a peaceful and meaningful existence in our own space. I certainly feel very good that you are where you are and that you can share that fondness you have with the rest of us! Making this a favorite as there is so much here to think about.

Dearest Empress, Very enchanting! As I read down through your poem I was most struck by your masterful use of poetic devices such as alliterations and metaphors. I think it was because they easily transported me to that tropical paradise. I felt like I could almost hear the marigold melodies and feel the turquoise waves. I believe you have mastered the way you express deep emotions, very inspiring to me. A FAV and good luck on the contest for you have a winner in my book. - Blessings, My Dear Friend, Daniel

To love where a person resides is a special gift. I enjoy my home too, though different from an ocean view. I truly enjoyed the color and serenity in your poem.

Don't you live on a tropical island? Which means you wake up everyday on one? I like how it evokes a sense of peace and introspection, inviting the reader to escape into a serene, beautiful world where nature and creativity intertwine. The vivid imagery and imaginative metaphors transport the reader to a place of tranquillity and wonder, making it a deeply immersive and reflective piece. It beautifully captures the interplay between nature, imagination, and introspection through its rich imagery, fluid structure, and evocative language. It offers a soothing, almost meditative experience, inviting the reader to explore a serene, idyllic world where creativity and nature harmoniously coexist.
